Digging the small amount of Prurient I have heard (Shipwrecker's Diary), its pretty intense.
Check out Black Vase by him. First track is hard to listen to in a good way.

FatalEnergy 07-27-2009 02:37 AM

Hey, can anyone rec some stuff like Throbbing Gristle's Second Annual Report?

Stuff that is just flat creepy and disturbing and not so much on the noisy side.

Meatplow 07-27-2009 12:39 PM

get TG's 20 Jazz Funk Greats if you haven't already, also I can't remember the album so well but I think The Worst of Monte Cazazza had some tracks that were similar in tone. If you after some dark ambient in general Combative Alignment's Everlasting Sun isn't bad, and though its quite electronic and has some noise elements (nothing harsh) you might even like 88MM's Motions of the Spinning Black Sun (I posted the link on the previous page). The final track disturbs the hell out of me.

i'll check that out Mr. Ron thanks

Jaundice 07-27-2009 12:41 PM

BITCH I JUST DOWNLOADED THE WORST OF MONTE CAZAZZA YESTERDAY YO

why are you always one step ahead of me :(

cool coincidence though, high five

Meatplow 07-27-2009 01:02 PM

my not-so-bad then

i need an archive full of racist propaganda videos to lift samples from

Jaundice 07-27-2009 01:12 PM

I was just talking to Aaron earlier about how I never seem to have enough tasteless samples to use in songs

Meatplow 07-27-2009 01:19 PM

it would be interesting to hear samples in your work

ron, Black Vase is very good. it's not quite as punishing as my ears as Shipwrecker's Diary was but thats not a bad thing :p

Jaundice 07-27-2009 01:24 PM

I have one song with extensive vocal samples in it, actually

its from like 6 months ago though

Jaundice 07-28-2009 12:55 AM

listening to Thaw for a second time, this disc is way heavier then I remember. pretty ahead of its time

Meatplow 07-28-2009 12:56 AM

it really is. the classical ambient pieces on it are deeply understated I reckon

i wrote a review of it a while back which was almost impossible to get across

http://www.sputnikmusic.com/album.php?reviewid=31139

Jaundice 07-28-2009 12:57 AM

I've been paying more attention to those because I remember you mentioning it

the noise parts are even more interesting tho

Meatplow 07-28-2009 01:11 AM

yeah I used to ignore them I think thats why I didn't like it much at first

Jaundice 07-28-2009 01:15 AM

i feel like a mini meatplow

next comes the fetish p0rn

Meatplow 07-28-2009 01:21 AM

don't hide it, provide it

Ventriloquist 07-28-2009 12:31 PM

Foetus consumed me as well when I first listened to it. Been a while. Gonna heil some Hole.

Meatplow 07-28-2009 01:35 PM

heil indeed. I like me some Gash and Flow of late.

I need more SPK, Information Overload Unit is very, very good. It would seem Graham Revell went on to score some pretty big films I never knew about.

Meatplow 07-28-2009 05:08 PM

haven't listened to KMFDM in a while

Chris Is Gay 07-28-2009 05:15 PM

KMFDM sounds like a custom Doom soundtrack

Imagine this over Doom

Meatplow 07-28-2009 05:23 PM

that song is off angst why did they use the wrong album cover :/ sheer bastardry

I have to get Naïve again I shall do so now. I lost all their albums I had in a hard drive crash.

Chris Is Gay 07-28-2009 05:25 PM

Get the album Chris Is Gay

Meatplow 07-28-2009 05:33 PM

i already have it on vinyl and the edition with two "live in japan" tracks appended on the end on cassette

Jaundice 07-28-2009 05:39 PM

uhh isn't that import like ultra-rare or something? where'd you get it?

Also, what's up with the Thaw EP? I saw it at the radio station earlier and took it because it was the only Foetus they had.

Meatplow 07-28-2009 05:46 PM

snail mail

EP? a quick search online doesn't seem to be revealing any information. weird

Jaundice 07-28-2009 05:47 PM

Wait, Thaw is the one you sent me.

It's called Null.

Meatplow 07-28-2009 05:53 PM

i've only heard the main LP releases, Rife (a live release) and a number of remixes he did. Manorexia is the only side project i've listened to, I didn't mind it. As for EP's etc there is an awful lot to get through, I haven't looked into them yet.

FatalEnergy 07-29-2009 02:13 AM

That 88MM or whatever was pretty good.

Hey meat, do you know if Front 242 is any good?
