There are those ups and downs to living alone... since my roommate got him self a house he's basically been, not here. Some of his stuff is still here, but the absence of him personally just seems to make everything stay cleaner. I swear that guy has like some foul chemicals like oozing from his body or something. He almost always reeked of B.O., despite the fact he took a shower every day, some times twice a day.

Oh the bathrooms and kitchen which I cleaned like a week ago still look clean. It's just amazing... that and when I take a shower like with in the two hours after he took a shower the stench of his towel hanging behind me while I tried to brush my teeth and stuff would almost choke me to death. I mean, I know we "can't smell our own B.O." -- or so they say -- but my towel pretty much smells like my body wash.

Now maybe I wont feel bad when a girl takes a shower in there, the rare occasion that is. =(

just pretend to be central european, it always works for me

BTW: I've passed my exams, now i can chose my area of specialisation, what should i take Communication Systems or Energy Systems or Solid State Engineering?

Blue_Moon 09-12-2009 06:11 AM

never made it to that cheap place ended up drinkin pitchers of cocktails instead :(

what was i thinkin

JoshIsNumber3 09-12-2009 01:27 PM

there has to be some natural law that says the longer your hair or beard gets, the slower your metal becomes. i wrote a riff today so grim that would make electric wizard die

sweboy 09-12-2009 02:18 PM

ok dudes i was jammin it when suddenly the amp just glitches into a total freak-out power-electronic holocaust of death and destruction

i nearly die and manage to turn down the knobz - a few minutes later i'm playin again and then it happens once more - it sounded like the complete discography of merzbow played all at once - and now i have two questions for you:

1) is my amp dying?
2) where can i find a label to release this stuff?
BTW: I've passed my exams, now i can chose my area of specialisation, what should i take Communication Systems or Energy Systems or Solid State Engineering?
Energy systems is probably the easiest engineering, while communication systems (I assume this is basically Digital Logic based) is probably what I enjoy the most in engineering. No idea about Solid State Engineering personally.

If I had the choice I'd probably go Comm Systems myself, though it can be some what tedious if you get into the math of the systems. Oh Fourier Transforms delight... I took a class over the Digital communication Systems thinking it would be fun, but it wasn't.

Energy Systems (which I assume is equivalent to what my school calls "Power") is probably the easiest, and as long as the world runs on electricity you have a job some where.

Comm Systems, I think Comm Systems is probably the most interesting in the design and building process, but the math behind it which you will inevitably have to learn, but will probably never use, is torture.

Then Solid State Engineering, well I don't know... the third specialization at my college is Controls. Which if they are the same, this is where the money is if you can learn it, understand it, and further more find a company in need. It's probably the hardest, but it is usually one of those things where if you read a controls book and you think it's easy, then you were just born for the stuff.

My mother knows a guy who is a Controls focused Electrical Engineer, he got a job out of college getting payed $120k a year and has never left it in (I think) 8 years. He loves it, and hell if you're getting payed $120k (USD) a year why not stay?

El-Ahrairah 09-14-2009 04:44 AM

Nice post LFD, I appreciate it. I'll be going for control in the Master's degree (or for a specialised master in Robotics, Systems and Control), and as for now for a healthy mix of communications and power. BTW solid state is all this semiconductor stuff, it's basically solid state physics + circuits, not my cup of tea exactly

I jsut booked a 10 day trip around eastern europe with some friends

freaking sweet

motogrifo 09-14-2009 11:17 PM

you just drink and go on trips, you bastard, what is your secret?

El-Ahrairah 09-15-2009 03:23 AM

how did you travel blue moon? Interrail? I love those tickets, you buy one, travel all over europe by train while getting shitfaced. Motorbike touring is also sweet, but physically more challenging, and less funny, but often more intense.

Blue_Moon 09-15-2009 05:21 AM

this is the last of the traveling shizzle for a bit i think.... the social welfare office here i come later on today! no job since the last few weeks... not that i did that much for it anyways

but yeah booked some flights into budapest and out from prague, those global inter railing tickets plan on goes to bratislava and maybe vienna inbetween not fully sure where but if you dont like somewhere you can always move on elsewhere, i was in vienna before its alrite kinda borin afte a day or 2

they usually are the most freaking sweet trips ever though!

Squirrel 09-15-2009 06:56 AM

drinking

Blue_Moon 09-15-2009 06:57 AM

You could miss an important detail today, so ask plenty of questions and read all the fine print before signing a legal document. Mercury's retrograde requires you to reconsider your financial options, yet it's still hard for you to truly see what's happening. Don't just assume that everything will fall your way now. Be prepared to fight for what you want.

star sign for today...

how freakin weird giving the evidence of my situation

Squirrel 09-15-2009 07:05 AM

nah not really

Blue_Moon 09-15-2009 08:59 AM

twas ridiculously relevant, unemplyment benefits is not cool the place is a mess in massive queue's with foreigners, had to fill in a bunch of goverment and p45 forms and ive no idea what ive to do first time doing it

mad! friggin country is in ruins though, seriously f;cked up

Sad But True 09-15-2009 09:16 AM
nah not really
True that. Because although it fits your situation, to the other millions of (insert star sign)ians it means fuck all.

This sounds a bit like euro trip to me.
Also I'm a lil jealous. I wanna go to Prague but its like a 20 hour flight for me. Unless I quit smoking theres no way I can go that long without a snipe. A 3 hour flight to Vegas or Daytona beach is about all I can handle. I would have to be completely sedated to go 20 hours.

Left Face Down 09-15-2009 11:11 AM

Just bought Fallout 3 for PC... because for some reason it has been mentioned 50 thousand times in the last like week to me and I've logged like 20-25 hours of Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion in the last two weeks. Lets face it, I was having Fallout 3 withdrawals and knowing that if I rented it again for my 360 it would just overheat every hour or two (literally) just doesn't do it for me.

Sad they didn't release a game of the year edition for the PC today with the 360 version. I'm sure it's in the tubes some where, but w/e I can live with it. Now I just have the great debate of watching The Big Bang Theory Season 2 DVDs (which was my original purpose for going to Best Buy), playing Fallout 3, or finishing my hw which is due tomorrow so I can do the first two with out a cloud over my head.

On another note, called my mom expecting "don't waste so much money" lecture (as I still get income from my parents -- yes I do) and didn't get it. It's like going on and on like c'mon, it's $50, I'm going to play it a lot and it's $50! All I get was, "well you have the money"... oh I get my spending habits from my mother and it shows.

P.S. - Got carded for the game too, haven't been carded since I was 17 when I bought Grand Theft Auto: Vice City. The guy let me buy it thankfully cause I told him [the truth] that my parents were too lazy to drive me over.

Edit: WTF, Fallout 3 has a normal button lay out instead of the crazy sh*t that Oblivion has. =/

Edit 2: Ok, this is kind of scary... like Oblivion, Fallout 3 auto detected my set up and set the Graphics accordingly. When Oblivion does it, I get "medium" settings... Fallout 3 is just like we're going to set you to "Ultra High Quality"! Lets see how this pans out...

Squirrel 09-15-2009 02:12 PM

so whats youre saying is that different games have different system requirements

mnemonic 09-15-2009 03:07 PM

thats a mind blower right there

The_Mop 09-15-2009 04:41 PM

Dear Lod - what be up?

I'm shopping about the interbutts looking for ice hockey gear \m/

Blue_Moon 09-15-2009 04:53 PM

Prague is the new Paris aparently

priced to match, lots of friends have been there and loved it, i always wanted to go too, i stopped off there before on a train but didnt explore the place, all those eastern european cities are getting more popular i love all the ancient and medievil archetecture budapest > bratislava > Maybe Vienna then Prague is the initial plan of action, who knows were we'll end up

oary77 09-15-2009 05:03 PM

Sounds like my dream holiday...congrats ...I expect there will plenty of drunken pics.

Left Face Down 09-15-2009 07:32 PM
so whats youre saying is that different games have different system requirements
I was expecting Fallout 3 to have higher requirements as it is newer by like what, 4 years?

Modern Iconoclast 09-15-2009 08:14 PM

So lod I've decided I want to begin putting together a sweet sound system, surround sound of course, probably just 5.1. So geef me suggestions for components, receiver, EQ, preamp, DVD/BluRay player, speakers, all that shiz.

I will probably acquire all this stuff over time so I don't really have a set budget but nothing too retardedly expensive. Oh and the speakers must have at least 10" drivers, and I'd prefer floor-standing ones.

123 go.
