How about some new metal.

I don't think many people can play it. But I recall a tab being on metaltabs..

Isis - "Grinning Mouths"

My guitarist wants to play "Blackest Eyes" from Porcupine Tree. It feels so boring, uninspired, and emotionless when we play it. I wouldn't reccomend that song, unless you really have it down. It just doesn't click right.

Shadows Within 10-26-2005 08:27 PM

Biomechanical - Enemy within
Nevermore - Enemies Of Reality
Children Of Bodom - Sixpounder/Kissing The Shadows
Into Eternity - Splintered Visions

Daven 10-26-2005 08:28 PM

Into Eternity-Buried In Oblivion

Darkness 10-26-2005 08:28 PM

I'm pretty sure the death metal songs mentioned won't even be considered... nobodies going to cover one at a gig at a bar (or whatever)..

But something like Face Of Melinda - Opeth would be cool. Or Windowpane.

Have you ever looked at the tab/music for Face of Melinda? Oh god...

Yeah, its pretty hard... but still... that song would get everyones attention. :thumb:

By the way, whenever a thread like this comes up, this song always gets a mention. Its the new "Hit my dad with a rake", or "Put it up her butt". Partly, its such a joke, because its highly unlikely that anybody can play it all through. Also, we all really want to hear that bastard live!

Often(not always), a replying post proceeds it, saying "123!!!!!!!".

My philosophy?

Chinese food is the best food.

And another good song would be, well, anything from Sublime. Good, fun, sing alongs.

I just looked and it looked pretty doable...unless it's some insane tempo :-\

Just takes lots of the big P word.

That big P word also requires alot of a smaller T word. Something I don't have much of, which makes me question why I'm on MX right now...

Perseverance?

Iron Man 10-26-2005 08:49 PM
Perseverance?
I figured it was either that or patience. But patience really isn't a big word...

Practice :)

I was getting the vibe of another P word.........

I'm just skeptical as to how it could come into play when playing Opeth.

I wanted to hear Black Rose Immortal live SO BAD! Unfortunately, they didn'y play it. You're a Death fan! That's awesome, I wanted to hear them play Flattening Of Emotions live out of all their songs, just because it's the heaviest, most furocious song ever recorded by Death. I like you.:)

Something that will get the crowd involved for example: Creeping Death, A Gunshot To The Head Of Trepidation, Room 409, Take No Prisoners etc. ie anything with 'hey!'s and fist-pumping, or call and response type vocals.

MonstrousVermin 09-20-2012 11:30 PM

Creeping Death will definitely get the crowd riled up
