Oh I forgot about that, you guys know its coming, in January of 2012. Diamond the music genre will be invented and all will perish. (pun not intended)
Sidenote: Hey Dimmu you should check out my cover of Love? It's in the Audio Arena and I'm not getting any criticism. |
Slam-core-gore-death metal...

Heavy Metal
|
adult contemporary progressive death metal
apparently that's what BtBaM think Colors is... |
I'd just call Colors progressive metal, but they were most likely joking...
|
how is proto-death metal not a real genre
it just means stuff that resembles death metal before death metal was actually a genre |
Yeah, but its not considered a real "genre," its just something the stupid reviewer decided to make up.
|
that term has been used to describe stuff like Sodom, Mantas, Bathory's first album, Celtic Frost, and Possessed for quite a long time. It's not something the reviewer made up.
|
Whatever its not a "real" genre.
|

Regardless of whether they were joking or not, it's still a ridiculous genre tag. |

Progressive Melodic technical death black doom metal.

Post-Rock, Post-Hardcore and Post-Punk happen to be my three favourites :D |

Id call BTBAM a metalcore band that tries to be unique and fails. They're basically a band that writes cool progressive sections around poorly written metal, or at least thats what Alaska is to me, and thats why I rarely listen to it. |
you don't like thrice, saosin, or brand new?
Thrice is good but those two bands suck arse. anyway I was talking about the name of the genre and labelling bands with that tag. I listen to a lot of "post rock" but I tend to call it emo, progressive, ambient, psychedelic or whatever else it fits as. it's not like Explosions in the Sky, Youth Pictures of Florence Henderson and Sigur Rós sound even remotely the same, even if they do have moody music with climaxes. it seems every ambient band with climaxes and not much vocals are labelled post rock. it's dumb. and post hardcore is also dumb. stop calling things post hardcore. usually it's either emo or scene. simple as that. post [whatever] does not make sense to me. what did metal die, so we now need to call everything post metal? dumb. |
At the Drive-In remind me of 80s emo. no one would kill me if I called Fugazi emo. but I'd just call them rock or punk. In Pieces? haven't heard.

ok i take back what i said about silverfang being an okay poster. proto-death metal has been a genre name for a long long time. way to know nothing about music.
