victor wooten vs billy sheehan
 

I had a talk with my friend who said that billy sheehan is not good at bass. In contrast, I think he is amazing and has much more experience. I know that victor wooten is very talented as well. What do you guys think?

I think they are both good at bass. That is pretty much a fact. Sure, their songwriting/bassline/hair metal band may suck in your opinion, but they are both talented.

I'd go Wooten, simply because he is black. Don't make a "versus" thread, because what is the point? You want to know if people like wooten or sheehan more? I'll tell you now, this board will probably say wooten.

But i prefer Wooten, not saying he is better just that I prefer to listen to him over Sheehan.

For me I prefer Wooten, also I would say he is perhaps a more versatile bass player.

neither of them would ever be able to write a cool punk bassline so hoppus is way better than both wooten and sheehan
