The Dodos - Visiter idk why people hype this so much, it's pretty generic
idk what it is, i can never really remember anything after the album's over but when it's playing i love it |
I dig the first Dodo's album, haven't heard the new one yet, though I read good things.

Raekwon - Only Built 4 Cuban Linx... Pt. II
|
Ian/YDload - what are you diggin' these days? I'm sure it's still a lot of bass-reliant pap (I jest, I jest) but maybe you've got somethin' good for me.

Test Icicles will be remembered. |
only by lonely british man boys.
ANYWAY, has anyone else heard the new Atlas Sound album Logos? I've never really liked anything that guy has done, but my friend was really pushing it so I dl'ed. . . this is legitimately good stuff. A lot less electronic than his last couple albums. |
walkabout is one of my favorite songs of the year, didn't really like the second track from it they released. the album will probably be hit or miss like his last one. the first album had good intentions but I didn't think he executed it well enough. few tracks were good, rest were kind of boring.

well i'm done with the obsessive need for bass in my music (how else could i have gotten into Hot Snakes?). but something about this band just kills me every time http://www.myspace.com/fatalflyingguilloteens (listen to the newer songs at the top 1st) |
Portishead- Third

Gallows - Grey Britain |
Gallows - Grey Britain
haven't been able to get the whole thing, what am i missing out on? |
nothing too crazy, if you already know their sound, its more or less the same throughout the album, but they keep the intensity up throughout so its just a solid listen.
Oh also: Still Life Still - Girls Come Too (new Arts & Crafts record) |
Raekwon - Only Built For Cuban Linx II
nods and says me too |
Albumssss:
Paul Dempsey - Everything Is True Heavy Water Experiments - Heavy Water Experiments Howling Bells - Howling Bells Brand New - The Devil and God are Raging Inside Me Phoenix - Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix (I saw someone had mentioned this earlier, and just about flipped. Don't ask why, I do it EVERY time someone mentions Phoenix haha) Particular songs: Xavier and The Hum - Nevotonesh Eric Bibb - I Heard the Angels Singing Glen Hansard - When You're Mind's Made Up Marketa Irglova - The Hill Marketa Irglova - If You Want Me Anberlin's cover of There Is a Light That Never Goes Out I'm going to stop myself there, otherwise I'll have a stupidly long post. Alsssso, if anyone's interested in something a bit psychadelic, I definitely recommend having a listen to Imogene, Fuzz Beloved, Ludivine, and Heavy Water Experiments. It's the same band, with minor changes. They're from California and were definitely a breath of fresh air when I needed something new and different. :) Definitely worth the listen! |
ALSO, it has come to my attention that I should REALLY listen to that Yo La Tengo album sitting in my cd rack... Haven't done so yet.
