DIY Thread

trying to tidy up the forum a bit

you want to know something?

MOD EDIT:

Most questions have already been answered. Please use the search thread option to find before asking again.

Here is some important things that have been repeated:
I also make my own patches. The way I do this is I print out the image that I want from my computer onto some cardboard-ish material. Then I cut the image like a stencil and use fabric paint. Fabric paint pens work a lot better then just bottles of fabric paint, but they run out much faster.
A stencil guide website: http://stencilpunks.mattrunningnaked.com/

MOD EDIT 2: No longer is this thread about asking how to put up a mohawk. This is about DIY goods and services

MOD EDIT 3: Do not mention purchasing your supplies for DIY stuff or tell other people to buy their DIY supplies from Wal Mart. Wal Mart is everything DIY should be against. No one should be supporting them. If you do, you can be banned.

superskankinactionhero 10-10-2004 08:31 AM

uncle matty, how long til i finish tony hawk's?

RevengeOfTheVillageIdiot 10-10-2004 08:33 AM

which one are you playing, and ho much of it have you done?

sketchyjoe 10-10-2004 08:35 AM

I've completed the first 5 Tony Hawks.

superskankinactionhero 10-10-2004 08:35 AM

i'm playing tony hawk's underground on the gamecube, and i'm on the bit where you have the 9 big goals to do (e.g. spine transfer the train etc)

RevengeOfTheVillageIdiot 10-10-2004 08:36 AM

err...sketchy can help more

i say....2 hours

sketchyjoe 10-10-2004 08:37 AM

That's pretty easy that bit as you don't have to do all of them. SOme of those goals are hard though. You're near the end.

superskankinactionhero 10-10-2004 08:39 AM

sound as ****. i've only done the train one so far, the rest are well hard!

sketchyjoe 10-10-2004 08:41 AM

The one iN Hawaii you've just got to stay straight, the one in Slam City Jam is quite hard but if you work out your line first then it's pretty easy. The Florida one is bloody hard. I can't remember the others.

mostlydeadonarrival 10-10-2004 09:20 AM

So in the Russia level how in hell can you spine transfer over the to the other side of the level? I can get over the wall but I can't wall transfer

sketchyjoe 10-10-2004 09:23 AM

First you need to build up your stats (check on the pause menu to find out how). Then to get over the wall you'll need to boneless before you jump off the ramp. To boneless press ^^then ollie.

superskankinactionhero 10-10-2004 09:23 AM

boneless

Retarded Chipple 10-10-2004 10:50 AM

Can someone recommend me a decent name for my band? Our influences are: 4ft Fingers, Consumed, Rancid, The Offspring, NOFX etc. (I started this as a thread a few days ago but it got closed cos it was dumb!) Thanks

RevengeOfTheVillageIdiot 10-10-2004 10:51 AM

'breaking coppers kneecaps'

I can't remember all of them, but the Slam city Jam one was pretty tough. The Florida and Hawaii ones were simple.

the second TH Underground doesn't look that good

Retarded Chipple 10-10-2004 11:27 AM
well if you cant even think of a band name you must pretty much suck
We don't suck, we just can't come up with anything catchy that we really like. We had 'fobik' but everytime I looked at it, it remined me of 'Reebok' whick I hated. Also came up with 'defector' which means rebel or renegade in Latin :thumb: Yeah i guess we suck at thinkin of good names.

NakedRaygun872 10-10-2004 11:28 AM

When I'm 40 I'm going to have a band called "The Money"

To make it vegan replace 1 egg with one banana, use margarine, and get vegan marshmellows!

Hey does anyone know anything about silkscreening and making your own shirts?
Or like where to get iron-on letters on anything?

You can get the paper at best buy and make the design on the computer then print and iron.

So what about the Mohawks, is toothpaste good enough?

RevengeOfTheVillageIdiot 10-10-2004 11:44 AM

just use hairpsray, its really all you need.

Jedi Jesus 10-10-2004 11:48 AM

Getting a really big mohawk is a process of hairspray, blowing drying, hair spraying again...

I dont like the feeling of "hard" hair or whatever though.

Jedi Jesus 10-10-2004 11:49 AM

Hey does anyone know how to dye their hair with kool-aide, I tried it before and it didnt work

NakedRaygun872 10-10-2004 11:51 AM
Hey does anyone know how to dye their hair with kool-aide, I tried it before and it didnt work
You have to have blonde hair for it to work longer than a day.
...and from what I remember it's kool-aid + peroxide.

You should be able to find one in there.

RevengeOfTheVillageIdiot 10-10-2004 11:52 AM

i think you need to have light hair already, then you just out it in and leave it for a while.

i consider myself to have a biggish mohawk, about 8 inches now. wash yer hair, comb it (get all the knots and crap out) hold a section, comb that (makes it look much better if its all straight and combed out) hairspray - blowdry

repeat for whole head. spray on more hairspray if you want it hard/stiff

Nihilism'99 10-10-2004 01:16 PM

Is paint thinner good for taking stuff off your jacket, I don't really know much about it so how does it work?

RevengeOfTheVillageIdiot 10-10-2004 01:18 PM

well if you want to remove paint im sure it works fine.

i have no idea if it would effect the jacket material though

basically, you should really wear a mask/gloves/ and goggles when using paint thinner.

brush it on to the painted surface, and just leave it, after a while the paint will look like it is starting to peel off. get something to scrape the paint off with.
