i've tried getting into it so many times but it just doesn't click for me :( i mean its a really good album, just not my thing. love the first three tracks and tiny cities made of ashes. ive never really been able to get into modest mouse in general but i think i might actually like lonesome crowded west better
|
it's easily modest mouse's worst album
i don't even like it at all, apart from relativism their best album is lonesome crowded west
Well, Cowboy Dan's a major player in the cowboy scene He goes to the reservation drinks and gets mean He's gonna start a war He's gonna start a war He hops in his pickup puts the pedal to the floor And says "I got mine but I want more" Because, Cowboy Dan's a major player in the cowboy scene He goes to the reservation drinks and gets mean He goes to the desert, fires his rifle in the sky And says, "God if I have to die you will have to die"
beautiful |

I love Lonesome Crowded West as well; I don't know why I just find moon and antarctica flows better or something. There're lots of layered guitar parts and it feels really spacey. I remember hearing it for the first time and just being blown away all over again, like the first time I listened to music and it clicked... that was how I felt with the moon. I guess the album just hit me on a real level and has stayed with me ever since. fuck this, I'm going to listen to it right now.
it's easily modest mouse's worst album i don't even like it at all, apart from relativism
O ya.
their best album is lonesome crowded west Cowboy Dan lyrics beautiful
yeah I'm with you there, Cowboy Dan is a fucking great song. Atlas Sound - Bedroom Databank
Easily his best material yet as Atlas Sound. Great stuff. |
teebs - ardour
this album is making more and more sense to me with every listen |
Is that Atlas Sound one an album or complication? I thought it was the latter.
Also, Prince - 1999 |
also, washed out - high times
i initially didn't think much of this, but its nod to dilla and stonesthrow kinda won me over. tracks like "Luck", "It's Kate's Birthday", and "Belong" are tasteful. |

I guess you mean compilation, and yeah. There's four volumes he's posted that you can find here http://deerhuntertheband.blogspot.com. Kind of treating it as one collection though that he's split up (say, for if I were to ever review them, see). |
