Stahlfrequenz is pretty heilwert

Meatplow 07-23-2009 04:08 AM

heiling brighter death now, innerwar atm

probably one of the more consistent power electronics acts i've come across in my experience. some of this was ripped for the film Gummo and I never knew for a long time

Jaundice 07-23-2009 04:22 AM
laibach - opus dei
downloading this hoe right now

Meatplow 07-23-2009 06:02 AM

Your track Pink Hair, Yellow Teeth, Jaundice, pretty good. I like the unusual sort of tremolo effect to the main loop, might sound a little thin in the mix at the beginning but you have cool parts like at 1:02 and it sounds pretty tight with the basic beat you bring into it. I love the section around 1:50 or so, reminds me of old school hardcore electronic music.

It's pretty hard to make something out of cheap sounding chiptune VST's but you did a pretty good job. :)

try this people, 88MM - Motions of the Spinning Black Sun. something of a dark ambient/noise version of Tangerine Dream. it's pretty hard to find and idk if it's being sold anywhere, a few tracks here are really good though

Ventriloquist 07-23-2009 03:42 PM

Meatplow rec me a power electronics album that isn't brain****ing as savage inequalities. Wanna get into that genre.
Meatplow rec me a power electronics album that isn't brain****ing as savage inequalities. Wanna get into that genre.
well the genre is pretty brain****ing as a whole but give these a shot, there is still quite a bit of harshness but these have some considerably softer parts that could probably be seen as listenable to some ;/

Genocide Organ - :Leichenlinie:
Brighter Death Now - Obsessis
Green Army Fraction - Chlorophyll Flood
Whitehouse - Great White Death
Control - Algolagnia

Ventriloquist 07-23-2009 04:00 PM

Aight. I'm OK with some noise/harshness but SI is ****ing disturbing lol. I listened to some other Brethren songs from their other albums and they weren't THAT harsh. I'll check all of those bands out, thanks.

Txus 07-23-2009 04:03 PM

That Whitehouse album is pretty harsh tbh, haha

Ventriloquist 07-23-2009 04:08 PM

Damn most of those album are hard to find on blogs. Might install slsk again...

Meatplow 07-23-2009 04:12 PM

It is, I really don't know how to bridge the gap for a novice into power electronics it would seem you try a few albums and either get a taste for it or you don't :/

No problem. Have you got an email Ventriloquist? I get most of my stuff from obscure tape and vinyl rips users off Waffles make that don't get into wide circulation.

I listened to SPK's Information Overload Unit a couple of nights back, it was great.

Txus 07-23-2009 04:16 PM

In my opinion if you don't like Iannis Xenakis or any John Cage's music you will never be able to appreciate power electronics.

So I'd say those two are good starting points for the genre, and both are pretty "calm".

Ventriloquist 07-23-2009 04:18 PM

Downloading Genocide Organ - In Konflikt.
