Okay, doing so right now.
Hmm, apparently, I've never posted my band in this thread. I'm sure everyone already knows about us from my whoring but what the hell.

http://www.myspace.com/soulcinematheatre

Check out "HS Equals HS," then "Sexual Malice," then "Revolutions." We have a five song demo and like a 9 song live set that I can send if you guys dig. Thanks.
I've only listened to one song so far, but you guys are pretty cool. Maybe I'll see you if you ever work your way to CT.
Save for the bad recording, you guys sound pretty neat.
Thanks. As for the recording quality, we're hoping to record an EP at my friend's basement studio this summer. All the current stuff is done on a Fostex 8-track.

Pretty cool band. I'm always up for experimental bands. It's like a robot almost, and it keeps you wondering at times. Nothing completely special from other experimental artists I've heard.

Mixed Signals Rocks!!!!

Jeremy (Guitar/songwriter extrordinare) and Joey (Old bass player/contributing with lyrics) wrote some songs together and decided to ask friend Rudy (Mediocore drummer/horrible) to play drums with them in late December of 2003. They wrote 6 solid songs and played there first show in late January. The band progressed to a solid set with good songs, high energy live performances, and a new bass player Luke (Very good metal bass/guitar). After playing for some time with Luke things did not work out. The band moved on, and tried out other bassists. They then brought in Easton, but after a while it became clear that Easton did not want to put the effort in to bieng a serious band the band gladly parted ways with him. Which brings along newcomer Tommy, who is the brother of first player Joey. Tommy an excellent bassist and has already contributed more then most bass players did when he stepped onboard. Be sure to support some great unsigned talent. Playing big shows and small ones every one is different and just as fun, we are definatly a band to see. Look for us to play your local venue, school, or house party as we come up with better songs and better times. The demo titled "Walking The Plank" is really no longer around but if you ask member of the band they might be able to find one for you. A new EP which is titled "Going Nowhere" is now available online, or in there local towns record shop. Some songs are on the page right now. come support the only band out there that is still and always will be fast fun music!

nobodyblossomsforever 04-10-2007 03:41 PM

Good quality recording on "A Summer I'd Rather...", the guitar work was pretty decent, maybe a little too wanked in some parts. I didn't really like the vocals. It sounds too fake, the vocalist needs to work on that. It sounds like he's trying too hard to sound like Tom DeLonge, he needs to sound like himself when he sings, come up with a different way to approach on his singing. Some parts of the song it sounded like you guys may have started to not keep up with each other, but that was only a very slight thing I noticed. Other than that nice job on that song.

"Paint a Picture" didn't have as good quality, but you can't really help what you are working with I guess. I didn't like how when the vocals came in, it overpowered everything else. At one point it sounded like the singer got really close up to the mic and started moaning while he was singing. All I had a problem with was the singer needs to back off some.

"I Promise", woah, I like the guitar work a lot. Again, singer needs to back off. I liked the clapping part. There was nice variety in this song. Vocals got better once into the middle of the song, then at points he got louder then quiet then louder then quiet, etc. It would sound a lot better if he maybe kept the same volume. Ouch on the way he yelled "I PROMISE!" but it was cool when it echoed. Good song though.

You guys are pretty good, and if you just get the vocalist to work on his singing a bit more, you'd sound even better. It's not that he sucks at singing, its just keeping the same volume and sound throughout. I'd say 6 to 7/10, just keep practicing and keep up the nice work. :thumb:

EDIT: I'll listen to yours in a little bit, Misanthropic.

skingle 04-10-2007 03:44 PM

thanks man i can take stuff away from that.

thanks for a detailed response.

Misanthropic 04-10-2007 03:45 PM

Shattered Future, if you'd really like you can listen to my "real band" instead:

http://www.myspace.com/skullecho

And skingle, yeah, I agree on the vocalist, he needs to "let go" more IMO, he sounds too "forced"..

nobodyblossomsforever 04-10-2007 04:58 PM

It isn't horrible quality. I really like the sound. Kind of reminds me of Leftover Crack. Nice vocals. There were some points the guitars kind of overpowered the vocals (on the second song) but overall really good job. 8/10 imo, nothing wrong with it. :)

Maybe you should consider changing the band name lol.

Mixed Signals Rocks 04-10-2007 11:53 PM

Shattered Future, do you want a cd?

Mixed Signals Rocks 04-11-2007 12:04 AM

Hey, does anyone know of any independent pop-punk labels that are decent, we would have a chance at getting signed to, and will open doors for us in the future?

Thanks man, appreciate it. The recordings were made by placing a single mic in the center of the practice space, so hence the quality. First recordings with full line-up, been playing together since january, never played a gig.. :(

welll... the eternal problem, the band name... i'll just say whatever, i don't care bout it anymore...

We're no way back, Scottish pop-punk. It's nothing fancy but we think its fun, so you probably should at least click the link?

We're upbeat music for upbeat people, some new material should be up soon if the local studio will let us in again...

Rebuke - Punk/pop-punk/melodic hardcore from Sweden, attempting to sound kinda like A Wilhelm Scream-lite, or a more agit Lagwagon or something. Mostly political lyrics, no love lyrics, but I always try to put extra effort into writing intelligent lyrics.
