his best musical project to this day, hands down
see damon albarn and beth gibbons vocals, violins, piano, guitar etc
uhhhh i think this is pretty good and all, but it's not even close to being as good as madvilliany or mfood. still good, just sayin, its a FACT |
where did this come from this is great
this came from Doom living in London for the last few years cause US customs fucked him over. i've been hearing about this for over a year. |
That shit cray.
|
im way more into this than mmmm food
|
Madvillain is Doom's best project. MM food is Doom's best solo album. King Geedorah is his best multi artist album.
|
Everything on this LP is stunning production, lyrics, flow. I am usually good informed about hip-hop future releases but Ive completely missed that one. It's one of the best 2012 music release hands down
|
mm food is one of the most overrated rap records, and this is coming from a fanboy. Seriously half of it is filler and it hasn't aged well at all.
This album is second fiddle to madvillian. I still think vaudeville villian is his best work |

This album is second fiddle to madvillian. I still think vaudeville villian is his best work
nah food is the shit. it's short because it's technically a concept album. Kookies, beef rap, and rap snitches are master works of concept rap. Vomitspit is basically a perfect cut. but anywho, that album is like 9 years old. This new one is good, but i don't remember any of the beats standing out upon first listen, which is a big minus. and the stress of dooms life really stands out in the tonality of his voice, which is something we heard on born like this. Don't get me wrong tho, this album is better than 95% of anything that will drop this year...maybe i've just listened to food and madvilliany too much lately. and honestly, i dont really compare Doom to any other rappers cause he blows most out of the water with ease, which is why i compare him to himself. In unrelated news i met aesop rock walking to work today, motherfucker is chill as fuck. |
i get the feeling this album is a grower. Madvillainy was instantly good, I'll probably like this more and more till i like it better than the other lol. Doom is a master.
|
I agree with Simpleton in that it might be a grower, but I'm not overly impressed by this after one listen. I definitely don't see this as being in the same class as MM FOOD, Doomsday or Madvillany, but I sure hope it'll get better after more listens.
Not saying this is bad at all though |
rhythms are next level on JJ DOOM
Jarell brings something special out of DOOM that just isn't there on the other ones you guys are talking about |
