b3rn3r made that a day or so ago. :p

Recommended songs: http://www.musicianforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=211168

aka: Forced Listening

;)

Riva 11-03-2004 10:32 PM

Ok, well, B3rn3r's thread is pretty much the same, if it was a bit more organised.

As for the songs, I didn't mean forced listening, :p , I was talking about when people want songs on a specific band. Like when they say, "Recommend me some Rhapsody, etc." This way they post it in there, rather than in the forum. If that makes sense?

Do you mean a sticky, or not?

Riva 11-03-2004 11:00 PM

Not a sticky. Just a link in the Important Links thread.

Mustine Vs. Hammet

DVG.

Riva 11-04-2004 04:42 AM

Also, I'm thinking it would be fun to set up a best 100 rock and metal albums, ala Medopalis, up here in the forums. I'm happy to organise and run the competition, if you mods don't mind. What do you think?

gmoneyguy 11-04-2004 03:52 PM

This is in noway a fantasy thread

BludgeonySteve 11-04-2004 06:36 PM

This deathhawk fellow is constantly putting down bands that aren't death metal and is the biggest elitist on the whole site. And I think it's againsted the rules to just say "that band sux! lol".

Here's an example http://www.musicianforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=260709. If you search his histroy there are hundreds more of these occurences.

A day-long temp ban will straighten him out.

3074326 11-04-2004 06:41 PM

Riva, the thread suggestions get the okay from me.

rock not roll:

He may deserve it, but then people would be asking for users to get banned every time they bash a band. If he keeps it up, I'll give him a ban. Hopefully he sees this message and accepts the warning.

Riva 11-04-2004 10:09 PM

Yeah, I will wait for Medopalis to run his top 100 songs first. :)

But I will start the song suggestions thread as soon as SFK and Superpeer give it the okay.

3074326 11-04-2004 10:10 PM

Sounds good to me.

BludgeonySteve 11-04-2004 10:44 PM

After that we will need somebody to do the ultimate modern rock band thing. Then we will be done with the whole top or best polls thing for a while.

Should be moved to Pop-Punk.

SonorKen 11-04-2004 11:22 PM

Done

Mekkalayakay 11-05-2004 01:19 AM

Medopalis, remember about us discussing about me possibly doing a Featured Artist? You can put me on that list, regardless of how long it takes for my turn to be up. I'll be doing Iced Earth. :)

Mekkalayakay 11-05-2004 01:28 AM

Anyone signed up to take charge of that yet? If not, I'll do it.
What would it be? Just the best bands of the last 10/15 years?
Like the 90's till now maybe? Still hard to define because Nirvana is usually considered a 90's band, but started in the 80's...hmmm...

I think this is against the rules. I helped the guy out, but you'll probably want to close it.

If it's last 15 years, it goes back to 1989. And I'd say the first full-length record was released is a good barometer of when they officially started.

So Nirvana are on the border, by my take on it. When was Bleach released? '88 or '89?
