First post, just someone asking about a microphone question. He's already been pointed towards jam session.

Can you get rid of the In-depth Critiquing thread? It was a nice idea and all, but its been dead longer than its been active and there's already a ridiculous amount of stickys on the front page.

SubtleDagger 11-23-2006 04:55 PM

Done

I was going to report it, but then I thought, 'who am I reporting to'?

Plus there's no site forum anymore...

Oh well.

slack 11-26-2006 09:21 PM

Someone'll stop by and fix this mess eventually :|

This thread is definitely getting some action.

Surf 11-30-2006 06:18 AM

Do not belittle the anarchic state of s&l. Its a veriable madhouse out there and this is the only safe haven.

SubtleDagger 11-30-2006 08:05 AM

I think what you means is "nothing ever happens in S&L ever"

Charlie Manson 11-30-2006 10:36 AM

I'll see what I can do.

Oh, Atman and Nacho discovered the thread. Please close.

Issue: It's supposed to be serious as the rest of the pieces in the forum.

Whoever opened it please close, there's no talk about his piece, but more of a search to see why he sucks at writing by looking through influences (sic).

One song per day. :)

Hedgedive 12-29-2006 10:36 PM

Is that rule still in effect?

Nightvision 12-30-2006 12:18 AM

Yeah, it's been the one rule that has always been more or less stuck to in here.

It's to stop n00bs posting their entire back catalogue three days after joining and pushing everyone else's work off the main page.

TojesDolan 12-30-2006 12:39 AM

Yep. It's not being done that badly lately, but who knows.

New people that don't read the rules are born daily.

clearly unnecessary....please close..

Thasis 01-07-2007 01:10 AM

^ Alright, I'm a bit angry about my song. I was looking for honest critique. I am a member of a death metal band and I actualy plan to use that song. So I don't understand why it was closed. I suggest un-closing it as I was actualy looking for critique other then "gross".

DeadReligion 01-07-2007 02:21 AM

You want some critique on your piece? It's fucking disgusting. Never write something like that again. Ever. I don't mean to sound like Pat Robertson, but it's so damn immoral...and I nearly puked. Penises in bleeding eye sockets? Go to your nearest mental hospital, you sick wackjob. Ew.

Surf 01-07-2007 02:31 AM

Its not so much that its sick, its just attentioon seeking

LOOK HOW DISGUSTING I CAN BE ZOMG

just makes it boring. Its not even dark, its just so over the top that it gets ridiculous. Not really much good I'm afraid.

And on top of that, the descriptions were bland, there was a lack of finesse to the writing and you seemed content to match boring nouns with boring verbs.

Thasis 01-07-2007 02:57 PM

DeadReligion, you obviously aren't familair with Death Metal, Pornogrind, Goregrind, etc. My lyrics are tame in comparison to many of the bands that produce such a lyrics.

Now Surf, thank you for some critisism. That's what I was looking for. I'm not realy into changing the topic of the song, but I can see what you were going for when you said the nouns and verbs were boring. Next song I write I'll try to be more descriptive and use a bit less-simpleton words.

DeadReligion 01-07-2007 03:01 PM

Death metal is terrible. People that need to sing about cutting girls' eyes out and fucking their empty sockets belong in a mental home. Not on stages as role models for children. They shouldn't be that close to children.

TojesDolan 01-07-2007 03:05 PM

OK let's make a thread about it and discuss it there please...

Thasis 01-07-2007 04:09 PM

Well I'm finding myself offended. Cause one guy doesn't like a respectable genre of music I get my thread banned. I think that's a bit unjust.

TojesDolan 01-07-2007 09:24 PM

It's not banned, just closed.

Feel free to discuss in the thread I opened. :)
