Good news everyone!
At least for those interested in some hipster black metal. Altar Of Plagues is going to release an EP soon. It'll feature two songs, but pretty long ones at that. "We have completed work on our new EP, entitled “Tides”. “Tides” is comprised of two tracks; “Atlantic Light” (15:45) and “The Weight of All” (19:45). Inspiration was drawn almost entirely from the power and energy of the Atlantic Ocean. The product is what we believe to be our ‘darkest’ material yet. Perhaps this may also be attributed to it being the first material we have written and recorded in winter (and a particularly harsh one). Tides will be released in April via Burning World records on both cd & vinyl. The vinyl will be presented on 180g wax in a deluxe gatefold package, and the first 100 copies will include a limited photo-booklet featuring photography by James Kelly. The cd version will be available April 1st, the vinyl version a month later but will be available on the Roadburn Festival in Tilburg where we will perform. An audio sample will be made available soon." |
Hah, nice.
Sometimes you come across these really lo-fi black metal recordings and just wonder how the hell they managed to get such a poopty sound. I mean if I put my mp3 player next to my amp and press record, it'll sound better than the whole of Orrery's Nine Odes To Oblivion.
first off there are much much worse than that recording, have you listened to black metal for more than a couple months? second, im pretttty sure it was released on tape originally as the tape sounds perfectly fine and can tell it was recorded analogue. so when ripping analogue to digital well then you lose quite a bit of quality. maybe the mp3s you downloaded were a home tape rip? home tape rips usually sound like **** and very different compared to the actual recordings which is problem with demo rips etc sometimes. so just curiouis how one would think that one is such bad quality considering it comes out perfectly clear to me whenever i listen |
Yeah, could be that I just downloaded a bad rip.
|
Even Birmingham would be a pretty terrible place for them to play in AL. We have one brofag venue, one hipster venue, and then a million DIY punk venues. I couldn't see Alcest playing in any of them.
|
Maybe the hipster one. Maybe.

Akitsa have a split with Roman Cross? Also, I'd say the production or overall sound on Nine Odes to Oblivion is rather muffled. Not that it's a bad thing, I love how it sounds. but yeah. |
Maybe the hipster one. Maybe.
Tis possible. They have a few upcoming metal shoes like Weedeater/US Christmas and Doomrider and Torche/Legion. |
Ugggghhhh Legion rules so ****ing hard.

How is promoting racial purity for Norwegians in any way contradictory to him sending money to Haiti?
|
It's not. I just think it's hilarious that everyone think's Varg is so terrible.
|
imagine how much of a problem people would have with him if he had worded it like "preserving Norwegian people and culture"
the word "purity" flips a crazy switch in people |
