Simple Man 12-21-2004 11:12 AM

It's open...?

EDIT: Nevermind, Saw Bartender's message.

Bartender 12-21-2004 11:14 AM

I just re-opened it, as I can't see how it breaks any rules.
I just re-opened it, as I can't see how it breaks any rules.
Thanks and carry on :)

SonorKen 12-21-2004 11:31 AM

I closed it because there are already 10000000000 threads on this. Go find one from JUST 3 DAYS ago and add to it. We are having enough bandwidth problems as it is without people creating threads "because there hasnt been one for a while". Thats goofy as hell. If you create threads for that reason we will constantly be re-creating threads.

Whatever tho, keep creating copies of threads and see how long it takes you to surf the site in a month.

Lamb of god thread. Took me a whole 2 minutes to find it. It had already about a hundred replies and 1200 views.

5. Before making a thread, check the forum to make sure there isn't a similar thread already. The search function works so use it. There are several ***OFFICIAL*** threads, a list of links is provided below. Post anything dealing with these bands in their ***OFFICIAL*** threads. Metallica for example has an official thread. If you post anything dealing with Metallica outside their official thread it will be considered spam. If you see several threads dealing with a particular band, don't start a new thread with a similar topic. For example. If you see an Alter Bridge thread talking about their new CD, don't start a new thread about a song on the CD, post in that thread.

What's this guys problem?
Holy shit!!!
I just counted them up and there's 12 of them!!!

ThrashHead 12-21-2004 01:04 PM

What does it mean to bump a thread?

Shadows 12-21-2004 01:05 PM

It means someone posted in it, which brought it to the front of the forum. Like if I posted in a thread six pages back, it would be 'bumped' and appear at the top of the first page.

munky_magik 12-21-2004 01:05 PM

To put the thread back up near the top of the first page. If people haven't been replying in it for a while it'll slip down the page as newer threads take it's place

The sanctity of the classic rock thread has been compromised!

ThrashHead 12-21-2004 01:08 PM

Oh. I take it that people get annoyed by that?

phimp 12-21-2004 01:08 PM

can someone tell what the needs for drum are in hardcore, metalcore?

can someone explain what the typical characteristics are for the drums for hardcore or metalcore how fast?which style?3/4? 16/16?
thanx

Simple Man 12-21-2004 01:09 PM

Drums and Percussion forum buddy.

munky_magik 12-21-2004 01:10 PM

bumping really old threads is frowned upon, but saves bandwith as SFK pointed out. Bumping a few days old threads is alright

That links has got bad news written all over it

Simple Man 12-21-2004 01:11 PM

Why do people just seem to stop by R&M and ask the most random quesitons, It's like they don't see the right forums for their question in bold.

I see December is the month for the new idiots to come.

Verikansa 12-21-2004 01:17 PM

1. why are there so many rules from what it seems like in the rules you cant post anything without you shuting them down i extremely supprised i thought youd only have like 15 people on the sire alone with those kind of rules

2. can u please make the sear function when i meake a thread and one of the moderators gets bored and shuts it down for no apparent reason he says to use the searche function, iv tried to use it but it DOESENT work it comes up with a whole buch of random old threads that have nothing to do with my search.

Simple Man 12-21-2004 01:20 PM

If there wern't the rules that stand right now, R&M would look like The Pit, Chris, Ken, and Bartender have done a good job keeping it up and locking all the stupid threads and keeping it clean.

munky_magik 12-21-2004 01:21 PM

1.the rules are to keep the place in order, so that it doesn't descend into mindless flaming and band bashing.

2.the search function returns any thread with the word you entered. You need to look through them all to find out if your thread has been done
