as much as I love the original eps I do believe they are often kinda dated

that's why they're awesome. they had to do more with less. thats why older horror movies always seem to be more effective. imo

I think it's important to have reference to older films and TV shows this way.

Still, when things are entrenched deeply in the cultural mannerisms back then, it can be become redundant viewing to me. Thankfully, much of The Twilight Zone has a clear narrative and themes which are timeless.
