i dunno the whole idea of improvisation is to make something that is enjoyable, and since people are in this case choosing their favorites, i don't see why it would be just whoever plays the fastest or can show the most technique


unless that's what this forum has degraded to entirely?

I was making a hyperbolic statement, but you know at heart that whoever's entry has the best tone with the fastest, cleanest technique is going to be the one everyone digs. It's how we roll. But you know what I was trying to get at, if it's a clear landslide then it kind of ruins the point of a 'competition' at all and kinda ruins the point of a prize. I know it says not to discuss illegal topics in GD but this is Guitar, and illegal topics are discussed in every other area of the site (daily uploads of copyrighted material, anyone?)

Personally I think that since Guitar is a musical instrument and drugs have a much more profound effect on music than people would like to admit to we should be encouraging the discussion of their musical advantages and disadvantages instead of immediately chastising those who wish to learn more about it D:
