Yea the vocals aren't so good at one point, but like Cocaine said the music is great, no need to worry about the vocals.
|
They're fine isolated they just sound awkward because of how Juice echoed them. The "harmony" vocals are kind of ridiculous but they're chopped up unnaturally anyways.
|
Man just when you thought bands were getting more original this happens

There was a band in Ontario that was ripping Protest off before Kezia was even out in the US. That's a pretty insignificant act of thievery in the end anyways.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5JGGHP2OCa0
I can't blame them for trying, that breakdown is one of my overall favorites. I love the natural harmonics right before it starts. EDIT: I just checked the mail and this month's issue of Guitar World came in. Guess who got a (nearly) full page profile? |
Jimmy Page
**** no that would be like a 42 page spread. |
no it was jimi hendrix you ****

I have no idea what you're saying, so probably yes you could. |
Re: latest interview
A Haley Williams and Rody Walker joint-solo pop music project! All the clean vocal fans would love it. With out the cheezy Dallas Green acoustic stuff though, think 80's synth rock mixed with Saul Williams beats. PS moshing is serious business; i relate it to the simpsons episode when lisa thinks she has the 'simpson gene' and all the simpson men are on the front lawn with pots on each others heads and they run into each other. Granted it was only 2 people at a time but the analogy fits perfectly otherwise. |
New songs their playing on this tour are Spoils and Wretch, the set was longer than the Silverstein/cd release shows. They pump-faked and played about 20 seconds of 'these colours don't run'
closed with bloodmeat |

nvm/. |
They pump-faked and played about 20 seconds of 'these colours don't run'
Hah that's awesome, but I'm sure maybe 2% of the audience actually got that anyways. |

Are they not gonna play Bone Marrow? Cause I'd seriously consider going if they played that.
|
I'd seriously doubt it, they can't do the synths/keys so it wouldn't be the same live
|
Backing loop that shiz.
Although I think their drummer would have a spazz attack trying to keep up with metronome changes. |
backing loop would sound awful and moe wouldn't have any trouble at all to be honest
|
I just finished watching the Bloodmeat lesson on this month's Guitar World CD. It seems to me like Tim is the musical brain of the operation.
|
Tim knows more theory than Luke as far as I know but Luke still knows more than he's leading on.
|
Any plans for them coming to the UK later on in the year after Warped Tour ?
|
I know it's a priority for the band but I dont know how close it is to happening
|
ahhh I'm sure they'll get over here eventually.
just dying to hear Fortress live tbh |

Yeah that's what I thought too. Luke: I don't know what a pentatonic scale is.. O_O Luke just makes the crazy lead riffs and the rhythm section makes it work. |
Yeah that's what I thought too.
Luke: I don't know what a pentatonic scale is.. O_O Luke just makes the crazy lead riffs and the rhythm section makes it work.
And then Tim looks like he's running circles around him talking about constructing tritones and talking about the scale intervals of particular parts of the song. It by no means diminishes my respect for the both of them, it's almost the opposite actually, it shows that they're still learning too. ...Kind of. |
Luke definitely knows what a pentatonic scale is man, he's just not very good in that kind of setting. He's not writing these songs based around theory, so while he knows what it is, he's trying to explain it as he wrote it, ie :this sounds good. Know what I mean? He knows it but because theory doesnt enter his mind that much he isn't entirely confident in using it to explain the song.
They're definitely still learning though, always learning. |
someone should upload that to youtube
are there any pth guitar lessons on youtube btw? |
ill upload it later
|
schweet
|
I believe i was wrong about one of the new songs they played. In round 2 last night the band played Spoils but no Wretch. But PTH took the slot as the headlining band. My memory is a little hazy from the first night but i would assume if they had a 'new' song in the set list it would probably be played every night; my bad.
If your going to this tour check out The Fall of Troy, they're better live than their myspace tracks lead to believe--most noticeably the vocals sound a lot better; solid sounding 3 piece. I miss bury the hatchet, but not as much as i like fortress. |

Bury The Hatchet is the jam! |

No, and believe me, I've looked. All I've ever found are videos of people playing their songs straight through. However, if that's what you're looking for I'd suggest Markus Niklasson AKA "nogoodnameleftforme" (http://youtube.com/user/nogoodnameleftforme). His covers of Kezia are on average 80-85% correct and his covers of Fortress are closer to 95-99% correct. Also, he looks kinda like Rody. |
