I like Nattens Madrigal alot.

But is there anyone making music like Ulver's folky stuff? A lot of people (Garm included) say Kveldssanger isn't very good but is there anything like it that's actually obtainable that's better?

Angmar 10-29-2007 06:05 PM

Empyrium - Where at Night the Wood Grouse Plays

for folk

Nattens rules.

i am the robots 10-29-2007 06:08 PM

I like Nattens, don't get me wrong, I just think it's their weakest release.

masscows 10-29-2007 06:09 PM

I've heard the one after Nattens is pretty bad. Don't remember what it's called.

Angmar 10-29-2007 06:11 PM

Themes isn't that good, most of their electronic stuff is good.

i am the robots 10-29-2007 06:11 PM

I forgot about Varnatt (the demo), I don't like that at all.

I like Themes. :l
Nattens > Bergtatt tbqh.
I agree:chug:

Angmar 10-29-2007 06:14 PM

Vargnatt is really bad, I fail to see how some people enjoy it.

Silenius 10-29-2007 06:21 PM

I don't think I've listened to Nattens or Bergtatt enough to be able to decide between the two.

i am the robots 10-29-2007 06:26 PM

Bergtatt is really good.

masscows 10-29-2007 06:27 PM

I agree. I think it's their best now that I've listened to it.

However, Hymne I on Nattens Madrigal is their best song imo.

oh mappy, did you make that list to piss off the melodic death fans on the review site or is it serious?

i am the robots 10-29-2007 06:36 PM

It's serious, and I made it in hopes of pissing off the melodic death kiddies.

And wow, I hate the review site with a passion now. I looked at the top 50 metal albums of 2007.... ugh.

Stormrider 10-29-2007 07:11 PM

You know it can't be good when Drawing Down the Moon has an average of 3.4

I went back to it recently and read the first review I ever wrote. Haha, it's not very good.

were you actually expecting something good

masscows 10-29-2007 07:16 PM

Imaginary Sonicscape is some ****ing trippy ****

And Two Hunters deserves #1 for this year.

rattlehead42147 10-29-2007 07:18 PM
Their Norweigan stuff?

wtf
as in "lyrics sung in Norwegian." that means not sung in English. it's not complicated. i wondered if before their commercial success they were any good.
IS is way, way better.
hell no. but IS is still good.

Stevo and Rattlehead both say the album isn't good :(

Drawing Down the Moon slaughters
NP Epheles - Le Linceul de la Mort
Oh man I haven't listened to these guys in forever. I will change that later.
And Two Hunters deserves #1 for this year.
No bloody way. It's not even top 5, maybe not even top 10.

Anglachel 10-29-2007 07:41 PM

I just looked at the top 50 and lol'd

i dont remember him saying that...

Eliminator 10-29-2007 07:42 PM
Oh man I haven't listened to these guys in forever. I will change that later.
Yeah, I haven't either. Feels good to listen to it again, really good. Nephtys is working on a new album, too. Looking foward to that.

Tyler 10-29-2007 07:44 PM

maybe all you people bitching about album rankings should try voting on the albums you're loling about?

Anglachel 10-29-2007 07:46 PM

Because I feel bad If I don't leave a comment after reading the review of every album I give a low rating to, and I don't want to do that much reading :(

masscows 10-29-2007 07:47 PM
No bloody way. It's not even top 5, maybe not even top 10.
well, it's my favorite so far this year, whether or not it's the best idk, since I havent heard many releases from this year.

Tyler 10-29-2007 07:50 PM

You can just rate albums; you're not rating reviews unless you vote yes or no.

Angmar 10-29-2007 09:46 PM

Drawing Down the Moon really grew on me, I used to find it average but now I think it rules.

Silenius 10-29-2007 10:00 PM

I have Drawing Down the Moon on CD and it's not as good as it used to be for me. I like Messe des Morts/Angelcunt better.

Angmar 10-29-2007 10:03 PM

So are you still in your metal slump Anton?

FatalEnergy 10-29-2007 10:11 PM

I've always preferred Oath of the Black Blood a bit more though

AA-12 10-29-2007 10:13 PM

I like both equally.

Angmar 10-29-2007 10:14 PM

I still haven't heard Oath, maybe I'll get it soon.

Silenius 10-29-2007 10:53 PM
So are you still in your metal slump Anton?
It was more of a purge. I like all the metal I have now, it's just considerably less than before. ;)

AA-12 10-29-2007 11:05 PM

I haven't listened to much metal lately either :\

i am the robots 10-30-2007 12:21 AM

I haven't listened to much screamo lately so like, sort of similar I guess but not really, actually I'm gonna turn on some Ampere nevermind.

RetiredAt21 10-30-2007 05:29 AM
Drawing Down the Moon slaughters
The Oath Of Black Blood is better.

Totenkrieg 10-30-2007 09:58 AM

Oath is very amatureish compared to DDTM and the material on Archgoat split is pretty terrible.

RiceMonster 10-30-2007 10:04 AM
I haven't listened to much metal lately either :\
What kinda stuff have you been listening to?

Silenius 10-30-2007 04:51 PM
Oath is very amatureish compared to DDTM and the material on Archgoat split is pretty terrible.
Archgoat side is good, which is why I like the split. TBH, Beherit seems pretty lame to me these days, not very intriguing.
