As for the reviewer, all the gay **** he likes isn't surprising, but the give Angelcorpse a low rating in the middle of all that just made me really hate that guy.

either way, I re-listened to Le Secret a couple of days ago after ages of not doing so, and it was pretty good.

Le Secret sucks, demo is good, new album has one good song.

ok people, help me. how long did it take you to get into tr00 black metal?
i dont know if emperor count as tr00, but theyre the only band ive heard so far that i love.
i can see the atmosphere of the rest, but the poor quality removes that "surrounding" feel of the atmosphere.
any good places to start?

You'll learn that the "poor" quality is actually good in terms of the genre. It adds to the atmosphere and feeling for the most part.

As for places to start. Go in the normal way with Darkthrone, Immortal, Gorgoroth, and Mayhem. Stick to the early releases to get an idea of everything.

i tried listening to Darkthrone on numerous occasions, but they never did it for me
Gorgoroth on the other hand, i seem to remember loving them at some point
i guess BM isnt my genre... Symphonic Black Metal must be more my type

i have seen it used EVERY time someone describes that kind of dark, brooding atmospheric black metal familiar in the early recordings of the genre, so just calm down a bit.
