It's all pretty accessible, though.

False.

Accessibility does not = bad

I still think No Stars Over Bethlehem is their best song so far. With Blindfolds Aside coming in at a close second.
|
I was sick of Blindfolds like a month after Kezia dropped. It was so over-saturated here, with all the radio gigs and coverage they get in TO. Plus I had Blindfolds as early as June, when the album dropped in August. Same with Nautical and Heretics. Those three tracks are conveniently my least favourite.
|
Well I also live in California and just found out about PTH like 3 months ago. So they are all pretty new to me and just in like the last few weeks have I really started to listen to them alot. And as of right now, those are my two favorite tracks.

I love Blindfolds, but I agree about Nautical and Heretics. |

I never really much cared for Nautical. I liked Heretics alot at first but its gotten a little old. And it has one of the strangest videos I have ever seen. |
All the videos from Kezia suck except for Blindfolds. That video is ace.
|
That video is pretty sick. I don't understand what the hell they were thinking when they made the video for Heretics though...
|
I like the video for Heretics, it's so random and the ending is hilariously gay
|
Divine Suicide is hilariously gay as a whole tbh
|
I just got really sick of Blindfolds because of how it was handled live and just in general. With all the delays Kezia saw (seriously, you people waiting for Fortress don't have any idea), they played Blindfolds for what felt like a year before the record even dropped. While they played She Who Mars almost as consistently, it was changed enough in the recording to keep it fresh. Same goes for Plateful, which was the first new cut they played (I still remember how they introduced it: "This is about a little girl in front of a firing squad), but then they gave it a break and the final cut was altered in favour of groove and melody.
Plus, I really don't like how Blindfolds transitions, mostly because it doesn't. The shift to the acoustic part sounds like an accident.
Divine Suicide is hilariously gay as a whole tbh
I take it you mean the video.
That video is pretty sick. It just wasn't well executed; most notably the first half with the sepia tone. It's just bizarre. But the second half in colour is awesome IMO. In the end, Blindfolds and These Colours and Bloodmeat are great videos, while Heretics and Divine aren't. 3/5 ain't bad |

Like seriously where do you get the idea of a music video with flying monkeys? So freaking random. I still haven't seen the video for Divine Suicide though. |

Um. The Wizard of Oz? Are you seriously that stupid? |
Well I know that, I mean like why would you want to make a video with flying monkeys based on the Wizard of Oz. It's so random.

How is it random? They're all big musical fans and they thought the concept would be quirky enough to be funny. They just overdid it with the weird narrative at the start. Had it just been them performing in monkey suits it would have been awesome. |

Yah. I guess that would have made it better. But the whole them trying to find jobs was weird. I liked it better once it all went into color.
|
Don't watch the video for Divine Suicide, it's completely idiotic, the band had no say in it whatsoever.

Is it really that bad? |
Yes.

So I have been trying to buy the Blood Meat single off of Itunes and Much Music, but I can't get it to work since they won't let me have my billing address in the States.
/never used Itunes before as well Frustrated and confused. |
Who is the girl who does the vocals at the end of Blindfolds Aside?

She does them in Divine Suicide and She Who Mars as well. She has an album out. Great vocalist when she doesn't miss her cues hahah. |

I'm not a big fan of Blindfolds either, except the part near the end where Rody goes: "drop the gun, drop the gun and rip the blindfold from your EEEEEEEEEYYYYYYYYYSSSSSSS" |
That's too bad. Why not?
Why would she be? She's not a member of the band. |
Well she did it once and it sounded amazing, I figured maybe she would do it again.
|
They brought her in to represent the voice of Kezia I assume, so it worked on that album.
|
I'm sure she wants to have a career. With Kezia, they had an open call for a female singer and in the end they went with Jadae, who Rody knew prior to recording. Now I think she's used this to get her foot in the door and get an album out, which she has.
There was a need for character based vocals on Kezia. Fortress is not character based, even though there is obviously a focus on certain mythological and historical characters. |
He would have to know our e-mail to do that now wouldn't he?
|
we will cruuuuuush their booooones like veeeermin.

"Tomorrow we will fly high, like our children free of sin, we will meet them at the morning, protected only be our skin. Tomorrow we will fight them (some back up vocal) and we will crush them with our fury."
It sounds more like "Tomorrow we will fight them Hide the children free of sin We will beat them as by morning Protected only by our skin Tomorrow we will fight them, (Through the darkness light can cave, or something like that) and we will beat them with our fury, and we will crush them (something something lol)" I'm digging Bloodmeat. I think they should have gotten a different director and went for something other than a performance video though. |
That director rules, he just went a little too far with post production. It's crush their bones like vermin, I believe.
Something other than a performance video? The song has no concrete narrative, and it's not like they'd be able to pull off anything pertinent to the lyrics with nothing more than a VideoFACT grant. |
I'm giving Kezia another chance. I dunno why but they never seem to click with me.
