Murat: Havent heard the first two albums? it's pure crust.

Ventriloquist 11-26-2009 10:02 PM

Oh didn't know that. Only listened to Inle and the split. I'm glad that they don't do crust any more tho.

Txus 11-26-2009 10:03 PM

They still have some crust influence. Tbh only Inle isn't crust.

Ventriloquist 11-26-2009 10:05 PM

Inle doesn't have much imo but yeah split is more sludgy crust. I'll check out the first two album sometime soon.

rasputin 11-26-2009 10:58 PM

have a listen to owsla murat, i thought that was far better than inle

Ventriloquist 11-27-2009 11:47 AM

well if it's crust then it's totally different from Inle. But ofc I'll give it a listen today and probably end up loving it.

FatalEnergy 11-27-2009 06:50 PM

Anyone know of any good dark ambient kind of like Akira Yamaoka's stuff?

rasputin 11-28-2009 04:23 AM
well if it's crust then it's totally different from Inle. But ofc I'll give it a listen today and probably end up loving it.
owsla is a little more crusty but it's definitely still got the post rock vibe that newer fall of efrafa has

Ventriloquist 11-28-2009 05:31 AM

Yeah I listened to it last night, great stuff.

Moon Flavor 11-28-2009 11:22 AM

Hey brohans I guess what I'm looking for is some thrash?

I always wrote it off as something that bored the poop out of me like old school death... but I've been getting really into Death Breath lately. I guess they just have the proper amount of awesome riffage. And also thrashy death/grind **** like Impaled and old Carcass has always been welcome in my book besides being a little repetitive.

However, I'm still pretty put off by bands like Dark Angel, Slayer, etc...

So I guess recommend me whatever it seems like I'll enjoy

illmitch 11-28-2009 12:41 PM

try Cryptic Slaughter, Sadus, and Holocausto

SteelErectedb4you8er 11-28-2009 02:19 PM

To continue on that crust kind of metal/punk, which has been tickling my fancy lately, I suggest Victims. A Swedish outfit that just destroys.

RetiredAt21 11-28-2009 04:51 PM
try Cryptic Slaughter, Sadus, and Holocausto
can anyone suggest some good Doom metal that isn't slow as hell?

kthnx

Ventriloquist 11-29-2009 11:48 AM

well there are all sorts of doom. if you don't want doom that is slow as hell, you just have to stay away from funeral doom. you can check out:

Pentagram - Be Forewarned
Candlemass - Epicus Doomicus Metallicus
Solitude Aeturnus - Alone
Pagan Altar - The Lords of Hypocrisy
Saint Vitus - Born Too Late
Witchfinder General - Death Penalty
Trouble - Manic Frustration
Reverend Bizarre - In the Reactory of Reverend Bizarre

Hope these help.

beans 11-29-2009 01:16 PM

i've heard reverened bizarre and pentagram.

ill have to check out the others though, thanks much

Ventriloquist 11-29-2009 02:28 PM

No problem, there are probably a lot I'm missing but these are some of the good ones. Just make sure that you've listened to one of the first four albums of Pentagram.

beans 11-29-2009 02:41 PM

i have their s/t and day of reckoning

Morumbar 12-11-2009 05:37 AM

Does anyone know if Arvo Pärt's Spiegel Im Spiegel is just one song or an entire CD? Can't seem to find a lot of info about it (or a download link for that matter).

Jaundice 12-11-2009 02:44 PM

a minute or two of research has informed me that it's one ten minute long song.

http://superspeeddownloads.blogetery.com/uncategorized/arvo-part-alina-tabula-rasa-da-pacem.html

found this link for a compilation or something of his music, has it as the first song

Txus 12-11-2009 02:49 PM

Well I have Spiegel im Spiegel in the Alina album along with Fur Alina and other two versions of Spiegel im Spiegel.

I know it's already on the list but I think Jyl's self-titled applies very nicely here.
