That's pretty stupid. There are a few 21+ bars around here, which is weird, but otherwise it's just 19 and you get in. If a show is all ages, then they'll wristband, but otherwise no.

this place really doesnt care. they didnt sell me beer last summer because it was the first time i went there and they didnt know me, so i turned around and gave it to my younger friend who's a regular and they sold it to him instead. after that they've sold it to me straight up though because they know i'm not a cop or anything.

It's different per province, but as a rule, no. You can buy beer in convenience stores in Quebec, but I think it has to be domestic. It's essentially just a monopoly to make more money. The LCBO (Liquor Control Board of Ontario) is the largest purchaser of alcohol in the world.
