And we can legally kill three years before we can legally have a taste of alcohol.
your parents can buy it for you
not necesarily. Pron has just become more hardcore in the present times. It' used to be viewing a girl partially naked, with maybe just her shirt off or etc. was pron. It's just as pRon and grown more acceptable it's gotten more hardcore.
obscenity is always determined by community standards |
There is no porn in Titanic.

Kate Winslet doesn't look too bad though.

are you serious? |
Alcohol consumption IS legal in the states with your parents. I think. I know there are a few loopholes that also allow it for religious reasons, and I don't mean the tiny sip of wine at communion.

Technically, providing alcohol to a minor is a crime, but nobody cares to enforce the law. |

Yeah I was wondering what parents would do that. Mine sure dont |
At the age of thirteen I could watch any film ever made without it impairing my psyche or mental well being. I don't give a damn about ratings, if I'm not allowed in I'll sneak in.

It depends on the state.
Technically, providing alcohol to a minor is a crime, but nobody cares to enforce the law.
In some states, it's a crime for a minor to drink alchohol. Here in TN, if you are caught with alcohol anywhere, a party, in your own backyard, wherever, they'll suspend your driving priviledges for at least a year, and possibly fine you. It seems to me that if you're old enough to legally consent to the act of drinking alcohol, such that you can be punished for doing so, you're old enough to drink alcohol. Oh, yeah. I don't think legislation should play a part in mainstream movies. It's the theatre's choice to allow minors entrance, and the parents choice to police their own decisions. The US government is not a babysitter for teenagers. |

yes
Technically, providing alcohol to a minor is a crime, but nobody cares to enforce the law.
in most states minors can drink as long as their guardian(s) are present |
yes
in most states minors can drink as long as their guardian(s) are present
I thought all states allowed that, but some just applied another mininum age, like 14 or 16. I'm quite sure that EVERY state allows some leniency. |
there's a minimum age where you shouldn't have any amount of alcohol ever. it's like 5 or 7 or something. giving kids booze before that would be child endangerment or negligence
after that it's all good as long as their guardian is there |

I find its pretty retarded when people make a big deal about sexuality and nudity...its natural. Movies with violence arent really deemed as offensive anymore. We had to watch J.F.K. get his head blown off in 6th grade...but we had to fast forward 'Their Eyes Were Watching God' because Halle Berry was making out with a guy in 11th. I think its really backwards.
|
no it's backwards you should be watching JFK get his head blown up and halle berry pretend to **** some guy in 6th grade. and earlier

There are similar laws here, nomially; but they're not enforced. In reality, we all just hide our bottles in the unlikely event of the police showing up, and wait until they leave. I've even told them, when inquired, that I'm of age and they don't question it further. |
here you can have sex 2 years before you can watch it.
Here it can be up to six. A 16 year old can legally have sex with a 12 year old. Why is there allowed to be awful gore, language, and etc yet no sex? I don't understand. The countries with the lowest HIV and STD numbers are the countries that really educate people about sex and teach them about it. Not the countries that are scared of it. |
/\/\ the reason i didn't mention violence/gore/language is b/c i'm unaware of any laws prohibiting minors from being exposed to that. But i thought that there were laws prohibiting minors from being shown Pron.
