one of the top 100 metal / rock album polls, bumped today by some guy saying "i would have voted for metallica"

edit: how come kombucha mushroom mofo has stars, does he have the rep to necessary hand out rep now?

Permanent Solution 03-06-2005 12:32 PM
At least that guy was polite about it.

zepfan - I've got no problem with some kind of RMOTM thing. Is that 1/4?
Alright awesome. I'd love feeback in the next day or two so I could still pull off one for February, but if not it can wait till the end of March :)

Is a fourm poll going to start soon?

We think it's because he was banned at the time the rep system was changed. The same thing happened to moaner. They both still have 0 rep, though.

Josh 03-06-2005 12:45 PM

ah ok, it just confused me for a bit.

Six Foot Revolver 03-06-2005 01:03 PM

Would I be allowed to make a thread for regulars to post there IMs? It doesn't break any rules but it is not about rock & metal.
So...I was thinking...it might be cool for community building to have a R&Mer of the month like many other forums have...does anyone agree? I'd be willing to run it. I was thinking of following punk's example and doing a n00b of the month and a user of the month (exclusive so there were two winners) to reward them for good posting and the like. Just wondering if there's an interest, I can handle logistics.
Heh, sure. :)

???

If not can I do the 100 Greatest Guitarists? I tryed to do this in the Guitar fourm but the regulars would just flame me, the n00bs posted the same ones multiple times and I couldn't it stickied. I think its perfectly reasonable since there are mostly guitarists here so...can I do it?

Kage 03-06-2005 01:34 PM

Stevie needs a perm ban, I'm tired of him bashing religion. It clearly says in the rules that you're not supposed to do it.

EDIT: Actually, he should get a 10-day, but I think he should get a perm for so many repeated offenses:
24.This probably should be added to rule #3 but I want to make it perfectly clear. This is not The Pit. We will not tolerate any racial slurs, religious, or sexuality slurs at all. If you violate this rule you will be banned for 10 days.
Hook me up with a link (or more) and I'll ban him.

Kage 03-06-2005 01:38 PM

http://www.musicianforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=310968&page=3

The most recent is on that page. He has some intelligent arguments, but then there's some posts that just bash it mindlessly, and also his user title.

Yay to both of you, but make sure the other mods are alright with it.

Stevie got a small ban, but if he keeps it up it'll greatly increase. That should/will not be tolerated. For future reference, I'm not a Christian, so that can't be used against me if someone thinks the ban is unfair.

Stoic 03-06-2005 02:01 PM

I'm kind of tired right clicking links inside threads so wouldnt it be better if they opened in a new window?

3074326 03-06-2005 02:04 PM

It used to be that way, but I can't do anything about it. You can mention in the Site forum if you'd like, but you'll probably just get flamed and called lazy..

I'm not flaming you or calling you lazy, I know people have mentioned that in the past and that's what happened.

Kage 03-06-2005 02:05 PM

How can it be unfair when it says clearly in the rules? He's been doing it for awhile almost regularly, so I just finally got sick of it. I'm not a huge Christian either, but I get sick of mindless bashing.

3074326 03-06-2005 02:07 PM

It isn't unfair, but like most bans of veteran users there will probably be some negative feedback.

RiceMonster 03-06-2005 02:26 PM

Stevie came back to continue his aguing/bashing of christianity.

http://www.musicianforums.com/forums/showpost.php?p=6940668&postcount=80
This is up to you I think.

3074326 03-06-2005 02:27 PM

It's tolerable as long as it's just not something like "Christianity sucks." I'll ban for that, but if the person is actually being somewhat intelligent about it, I'll let it go.

Can't ban people for having opinions, but I can ban people for saying offensive things for no reason.

I'm not sure which mod approved of this, but I beleive there was a thread in the site forum about creating a new Tool official thread. The user that created our current Tool thread is no longer a user, or doesn't post much any more or something, so if we(I) created a new one, I could update the first post with current Tool news, links with good Tool info, etc. All I need is approval from an R and M mod. :thumb:

I think Clearvision is working on the new first post. He posted his ideas in the official thread already.
And I think this is mainly Ken's area.

Dr. Jake Destructo 03-06-2005 03:31 PM

Sweet. Clearvision probably knows more about Tool than me, but I just wanted to make sure somebody was on top of it. Thanks Vince, and Munky Magik. :thumb:

Bartender 03-06-2005 03:42 PM

I was the one who said something about it in Site, I think.
