You can erase me from the dibs section. I had said that I was interested in doing those albums, but I don't know if I'm actually going to do them, or if I'll do them in the near future. That said, I WILL DO With the Lights Out, because I now own it, nobody has claimed it yet, and there is a request for it. If anyone else wishes to do it, speak now or forever hold your peace (or just post your review in my thread :p).

Already been done :) Check the Reviewed List in future, before requesting, thanks.

ATC 01-14-2005 06:03 AM

right, all i'll be doing will be
Nevermore- Believe in nothing (EP) (very freaking rare)
Dust for life- Unreleased B-sides
Travis- any album not done yet

The Ashtray Girl 01-14-2005 07:52 AM
Travis- any album not done yet
Yay, I didn't want to have to do them all myself.

Tangy zizzle 01-14-2005 08:18 AM
If they're remixes, then no, probably not. Unless they're really spectacular remixes or live versions, or something. If it's got great significance in musical history (like the, as far as I know, only single we have reviewed), then go for it.

You could always do it as a review within in the review of the album from whence they came (or even better, do a review ofthe album yourself and tag a review of the single(s) on the end, as I did for my Wildhearts reviews) If there is no album album from whence they came, then there should be no problem either.
No they're all completely different songs. It's a pretty important little piece o' wax actually. The first release by a certain LA hardcore punk band.

cbmartinez 01-14-2005 05:13 PM

I'm almost done with mine. You want to hold off until I'm finished or post yours now?

By the way, what are you going to label it as genrewise? I was thinking Rock/Post-Hardcore? I don't really know if they fit the formal definition of Post-Hardcore though...

Silenius 01-14-2005 05:43 PM
That would be cool.
I'll have it up sometime next week. This weekend I have too much to do.

Epicurus 01-14-2005 07:53 PM

John 5 - vertigo

Shadows 01-14-2005 07:54 PM

Is that a request?

And while I'm on the subject, I'd like to call dibs on Ion Dissonance - Breathing is Irrelevant.

I promise that 1349 - Beyond the Apocalypse and Dark Tranquility - Damage Done will be up painfully soon.

lambofgod002 01-14-2005 09:24 PM

can someone review "Hidden Hands Of A Sadist Nation" by Darkest Hour

I have only heard one song and I really like it so please review

cbmartinez 01-14-2005 09:53 PM
I'm feeling (pop punk/post-hardcore/progressive). It's just a rock CD but it's so much more dense and complex than that. It isn't post-rock though because that carries connotations of being spacey and surreal, which Hopesfall did not do on this album. Their last album was progressive hardcore, clearly. This one is not so clear.
I thought pop-punk was pushing it because there isn't really a high energy, fast, poppy mood to most of the material (sure, "It Happens" and 'Icarus" have there poppy moments). It's got a slow moving, chill feel. The songs just come, one after another.

Robert Crumb 01-15-2005 01:04 AM

I'm going to dib

Half Japanese - Greatest Hits
Cannibal Ox - Cold Vein
Otis Redding - Otis Blue
X - Los Angeles

And maybe a Leonard Cohen album if anyone is interested. I'll probably do them in that order.

Bartender 01-15-2005 01:06 AM

I'll be looking forward to the Otis Redding one :)

Robert Crumb 01-15-2005 01:18 AM

It's one I've been wanting to do for a while but I keep forgetting about for some reason. I know there are some Redding fans around here so I hope I do it justice.

Bartender 01-15-2005 01:20 AM

I'm not officially a Redding fan, since I don't own anything by him. I think I'd like him though, so I'm interested in reviews.

Dancin' Man 01-15-2005 10:24 AM

There are no Marduk reviews yet?

Would someone mind doing any one of them excluding World Funeral?

I could do Those of the Unlight or Panzer Division Marduk when I have time.

Shadows 01-15-2005 10:29 PM

I checked the list and didn't see this one...but since the list is really hard to look at right now, tell me if I'm wrong.
