Fortress opened at #1 if I recall correctly. Still cool though.

shortz 04-05-2011 07:40 PM

Yeah, it was number one I remember 'cause they were stating how they got drunk, like they always do. Great that they broke the top ten, wonder who was #1.

I'm actually quite liking the fact that Rody's written the lyrics, they're cheeky and catchy plus live he sounds way more comfortable, I think.

Tyler 04-05-2011 07:58 PM

I think there's more to them than people are realizing. I mean, yeah, there's a line about taking a huge dump at a truck stop, but it's in a song about Propagandhi. Two-fold, it is.

shortz 04-05-2011 08:28 PM

Yeah, I know I just sing the lyrics without really looking into them too much.

But I think I'm finally starting to enjoy "Dunsel" and "TRoUT" somewhat at least, hearing it live kind of helps.

Have you caught them on this recent tour Tyler? (assuming you have 'cause it's you haha)

Tw1ster 04-05-2011 10:04 PM

Saw them yesterday in Abbotsford. Both TesseracT and PTH were a treat but the venue was absolutely shitty. I hope one day to catch Protest in a 19+ venue
Have you caught them on this recent tour Tyler? (assuming you have 'cause it's you haha)
No, not unless you count the show I saw a few weeks ago, which I would. Nothing like seeing them in front of 150 people, it brought back memories, man. I doubt I'll go out on this tour unless I can get myself in for free. I hate the Toronto venue they're playing. A lot. And I try to avoid all ages shows whenever possible.

shortz 04-06-2011 11:47 AM

Haha fuckin' tell me about it. The show they played here last week had so many teens and drunk people it was fucking ridiculous. So many people were just stumbling around it was actually kind of funny/sad. It's pretty crazy though how much their fan base has grown over the past few years - granted the shows I've been to weren't anything like what you have seen but it was nice to go to a show where they weren't all that known, you know? Oh how the times have changed.

Tyler 04-06-2011 11:56 AM

I mean they've always been pretty well known in Toronto, even when the EP came out they were one of the top buzz bands in the city, it's just they played a lot and the venues were smaller. Now they don't play as much (well, they tour more, just a wider scope) and the venues are huge and out of the way.

Jev 04-06-2011 06:34 PM

tab books are taking too long to get here. Wish I had seen the 'up to 6 weeks' part when i ordered :(

Tyler 04-06-2011 06:37 PM

I don't think they were actually ready until recently. Had to be finished and printed, I reckon.

Jev 04-06-2011 06:40 PM

Which ones? I ordered Fortress and Kezia a good three weeks ago and scurrilous about 3 or 4 days ago.

Tyler 04-06-2011 06:43 PM

oh, I meant Scurrilous

Tw1ster 04-06-2011 07:40 PM

Rody pulled this slutty 15 year old up on stage between songs because she was wearing a home made shirt that read "I will suck Rody Walkers Cock..." and on the back it said "And have a threesome with him and Luke"...he pretty much humiliated her in front of the whole crowd, it was awesome yet embarrassing for PTH fans

shortz 04-06-2011 07:59 PM

Haha would have loved to see that. I would have laughed my ass off. But it's quite sad that a girl actually thought that was a good idea for a shirt

I think she deserved it. I would loved to see that.

The venue I was looking at going to falls on finals week so I don't think I'll be able to catch them this tour.

BTBAM sunday though.

Tyler 04-13-2011 09:58 AM

between the boring and me

Destructerator 04-14-2011 06:28 PM

Tyler 04-14-2011 06:34 PM

Destructerator 04-14-2011 06:36 PM

brotest the queero

children of boredom?

Tyler 04-14-2011 06:41 PM

Children of Bodom is hilarious live, it's just a bunch of poofs playing 20 minute keytar solos and checking themselves out in the reflections of each other's instruments

Destructerator 04-14-2011 06:44 PM

Now if they could only write another FTR.

Mute Requiem 04-14-2011 08:39 PM

do people still listen to children of bodom

Tyler 04-14-2011 08:47 PM

I hope not.

Mute Requiem 04-14-2011 08:51 PM

i wonder if they were thinking "hey lets see how many fat goth kids can wear our t shirts" when they made their band

xMalcolmXx 04-14-2011 08:54 PM

my friends dad does. he was a sergeant in the russian army.

Destructerator 04-15-2011 12:38 PM

alytee123 04-17-2011 04:12 AM

I was listening to some of their covers last night.

Endangered Oddity 04-17-2011 06:40 AM

So I've heard Protest is playing Turn Soonest... this tour can anyone confirm this?
So I've heard Protest is playing Turn Soonest... this tour can anyone confirm this?
They are playing it. There are videos of it on YouTube and people who had already seen them on their current tour in the states confirmed it as well. On one of the concerts Rody told the audience they hate playing that song but fans love it..so they kinda give in and play it anyway..
