...or maybe use of psychotropics runs in the family.

Tyler 01-30-2011 08:20 PM

Apparently they're playing a few new songs in Europe.

- “C’est la Vie”
- “The Reign of Unending Terror”
- “Dunsel”

I'd imagine videos will pop up soon?

alytee123 01-31-2011 10:25 AM

Saw em last night supporting darkest hour and they played those 3 new songs. Sound very promising, seems like the guitars are stepped back a little and letting Rody's vocals do a bit more, but I dunno, just wait until the album and listen again.

Show was great though. 'Y'know having a small penis does have it's advantages...every blowjob is a deep throat'. A LOT of people left after pth so dh had a smaller crowd.

Tyler 01-31-2011 01:58 PM

There was a definite plan to have the guitars define themselves a little more this time around, I think I said I'd heard that months ago and I'm glad it's true.

Ventriloquist 01-31-2011 02:06 PM

I can't see how the guitars could be more defined. Also they should release this already.

Tyler 01-31-2011 02:08 PM

Sorry, missed a few words there. More defined as in distinction between rhythm and lead and more fleshed out as opposed to just non stop leads.

Ventriloquist 01-31-2011 02:32 PM

Ohh ok that makes sense. Non-stop leads were fitting quite well. Hope they are not trying to make it easier to listen. Anyway, I'm sure they'll make it work, whatever they are trying now.

adb 01-31-2011 02:34 PM

in other words the band is going away from what makes them good to being with

Yeah that makes sense from what they played. Stoked to hear the album.

Aaron 02-01-2011 06:31 AM

Is Roddy going to sing in a key, rather than near one, on this album?

Always ten songs. I wonder if they're going to do what they did with Fortress and have that "intro" prior to the first song, that was cool. Probably not

Also those track names look kind of... shitty. 'Cause we all know how track names determine how good an album will be and not the music.

Ventriloquist 02-01-2011 11:46 AM

They all look fine apart from

*~mOOnLiGhT~*

Tyler 02-01-2011 11:51 AM

I think Hair-Trigger is the one with Jadea Kelly on it

gocsa666 02-01-2011 06:30 PM

It's funny how they were sayin' like in all the interviews and stuff that this time theres going to be more than 10 songs and they have 10 again:D It would be good though to have some B-sides released at a later time..maybe on some singles or somethin..

Tyler 02-02-2011 12:19 PM

I think they did record 14, so who knows.

Also,

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S9bfTutunes#t=04m55s

Can definitely hear the groove I was told about. This song has tooooooons. I like.

beans 02-02-2011 08:12 PM

Wow, was not expecting that. Absolutely love it

Soooo stoked now.

It's certainly a grower I think.

Tyler 02-03-2011 12:19 PM

rody sounds like a black woman

Benzilla 02-03-2011 12:36 PM

Sounds a bit...cheesy. But if that was a deal breaker I wouldn't have started listening to them anyway.

publicastration 02-03-2011 12:39 PM
Sounds a bit...cheesy.
must have never heard them before

Si1v3RfaNg 02-03-2011 03:07 PM

Is there a release date for it yet?

2muchket! 02-03-2011 03:08 PM

March 22nd

gocsa666 02-03-2011 04:11 PM

Well..at the moment, I think Bloodmeat was/is a hell of a lot better than C’est la Vie.. I was kinda waiting for a song with a lot more 'umph' - if that even means anything.

gocsa666 02-03-2011 04:28 PM

Also, "the trains were fifteen minutes late" is not exactly the level of complexity (courtesy of Arif) we got used to on the previous albums.

xMalcolmXx 02-03-2011 04:34 PM

meh. if thats the best song on the album i dont know if i'll bother.

TheLerk 02-03-2011 04:36 PM
I have absolutely no idea what the hell you are talking about.

picsplzthxbai
hahahahah.

Tyler 02-03-2011 04:36 PM

the lyrics as a whole are pretty clever i'd say. they're more lyrical and less bookish than arif's but they've got a similar feel to them
stepped off a chair so he could learn to let loose,
learn to let loose before the pendulum wore off
his final sound a gurgle and a cough
and his final words “the pendulum wore off”

stepped off a building to find some concrete evidence,
concrete evidence that he’d ever make an impact
fiction splattered into fact

and his fiction splattered into another sidewalk painting on display
stepped off a bridge so he could make a splash
to make a splash he had to flounder like a fish out of water
another lamb that chose the slaughter

stepped off a chair so he could learn to let loose
learn to let loose before the pendulum wore off

his final sound...

stepped off a platform and he briefly made the news,
he made the news and he made the trains run fifteen minutes late
oh what a price to pay to be the author of your fate
the trains were fifteen minutes late (to be the author of your fate)
c’est la vie! a drooling old bitch and a house full of lies

c’est la vie! the little things that kill you make you glad to be alive
c’est la vie! disease in your genes and ocean levels on the rise
c’est la vie! sing a song of living before everybody dies
(i didnt figure all these out, btw)

P13 02-03-2011 04:38 PM

kinda childish

2muchket! 02-03-2011 04:55 PM

Those are pretty cool.

And I really like the song after a few more plays, excited for the album.

Tyler 02-03-2011 04:58 PM

i just like that it's a bit more structured and cohesive than fortress.

alytee123 02-03-2011 05:23 PM

So far so good, looking forward to hearing the rest.

gocsa666 02-03-2011 06:53 PM

(i didnt figure all these out, btw)
Yeah, you're right about the feel. I guess the biggest difference is there are no 'big words' in it..:) and the metaphors are not so complicated or convulated or whatever the right expression might be.. you know, like "Language is the heart's lament, a weak attempt to circumvent the loneliness inherent in search for permanence" in Spoils for example.

adb 02-03-2011 08:24 PM

song was at best 3/5

shortz 02-03-2011 10:18 PM
rody sounds like a black woman

And upon listening, I don't know what to think. I agree with Tyler in the cohesiveness but it'll definitely be a grower for me.

DBlitz 02-03-2011 10:40 PM

idk it sounded ok i guess

i dont think i'll like the new album more than kezia or fortress though

Ventriloquist 02-03-2011 11:34 PM

it's much more riffy, me likey. more fun songs to play on my guitar yay

Tw1ster 02-04-2011 04:07 PM

Pretty awesome and overall a lighter mood than the past two albums so far. I think the sound has progressed to be honest
