(Cut the Crap was released in '85)

Woah... so Travis is younger than us? I did not know that.
|
I'm considering buying it. They've got it at one of those "Everything Is $10" shops near me ($10 in Australia is fu'ck all) but I'm not sure if it's even worth that. Anybody got it?
|
No, Travis's birthday is 1/2/90.
This Is England is a very good song. Other than that CTC is "a horribly failed attempt at pop music." |
Woah... so Travis is younger than us? I did not know that.
im older than sean, i though CtC was 84? 1-2-90 |
Oh. D'amn. I'm younger than both of you, and Travis sucks at math.
I thought you guys hated This Is England. I've always liked it. |
Yes math isnt my subject hahaaha, but i pwn at spanish and history.
This is england is meh.... |
Sorry for being a typical noob, but which of you is Travis?
|
Me.
|
Guns of brixton = sean
me = dustin coma girl = andy |
This Is England is probably the best song (I've only heard like 3 of them), and it sucks.
|
Guns of brixton = sean
me = dustin coma girl = andy
Andy never post anymore though, and mimmick or whatever, shes crys allot haha. jp andy if you read this. |
I love This Is England
|
It's not really a Clash song though. That's my beef with it.
|
Yeah I can kind of see why people wouldn't like it, but I love the feel to it,(not to sound like a queer) it's really inspiring.
|

The Guns of Brixton, live at the Palladium in NYC. Enjoy.
dude, can you upload that file again? I'd really like to hear them live there |
Uh, sure, just give me a few minutes. Unfortunately the Palladium show had bad sound quality.

I was in a YSI mood... so...

Thank you. I'm gonna post some wallpaper later. ;) |
No prob. I'll YSI some more good stuff.
|
Mick's lead sounds really good in that first version on Guns Of Brixton
|
It's fun to share Clash stuff. :)
Here's some wallpaper I posted in yesterdays Clash/Tim Armstrong thread. So you may already have it. I'll post more later. Some of you may already have this stuff, others may not. Picked up some trojans while I was collecting it. But I cleaned 'em, so it was worth it. Picking up trojans so you don't have to. :smash: |
My favourite is the "This is Joe public...sleeping!" one.
My favourite is the "This is Joe public...sleeping!" one.
Yeah, mine too. Joe. He was a character. I miss him. As corny as it sounds. I was priviliged to see him live a few times before his death, and those are experiances I will not soon forget. Hopefully never. Anyway, here's some more. I cleaned 'em up the best I could with photoshop. And there is even one of the Clash '85. Whom I have heard a live bootleg of and they were actually quite good. Enjoy. Mick got great sounds. My two favourites of his are the lead on hateful and Brand New Cadillac. |

They all look really cool in it*, especially Paul, who's using that angry face. I also like the one with just Mick and some of the lyrics to Hateful. *Mick actually looks like a dork. |
Edit: Mick actually looks like a dork.
Yup. He was born a wanna be ROCK STAR. Funny guy. You ever see Westway To The World? How incredibly humble he has become. Or at least he has tried. When he realy struggles with words at the end to say he was sorry for being the way he was. It's kinda cool. The purple one is another favorite of mine, also. Those guys were beautiful. |
Yep I've seen it but I don't remember that bit, I oughta watch it again. What I do remember is Mick was balding.
|

Yes. Very bald. At the end he gets choked up about things and explains in a cracked voice how he didn't know about having any "control" back then. That's what he calls it. Said he hadn't learned it yet. He wants to say sorry, but can't quite do it. But I think everyone knows what he's saying. I really did find it to be quite touching to see him become so emotional. He cared back then too, I suppose. Probably just couldn't express it. |

Sounds familiar, I really should watch it again though, Mick's a great guy. Do you know what he's doing at the moment? I heard he recently produced a Libertines album. |

Yes, he produced two Libertine albums. I think he has been an active producer and musician for the most part since BAD disbanded. A friend of mine told me he has a band called Carbon/Silicon, or something like that? Supposedly they have recorded a lot of music, but none of it has been released. I don't know why? I also hear he has been championing the causes of p2p networks and the desired rights of people to share music anyway they like. Perhaps that has something to do with his lack of official musical output. Now that you mention what he might be up to though, I would think he has a site or something. I'm gonna check it out. Hopefully the Mick Jones from that crap band Foreigner won't show up in my google search. :smash: |
Most of the fans would be 40 years old or fag kids like me who were born 5 years after Cut the A'ss.
1 year after. I'm old and pathetic. :upset: |
INTERESTING FACT: Mick Jones's voice never changed.
|
1 year after.

I was so surprised when I watched Westway to the World and saw that the high voice wasn't just in the songs, but the way he actually talks.

Thanks allot for the back grounds! My favorite is the one with the yellow tints. |
INTERESTING FACT: Mick Jones's voice never changed.
as in, his singing voice? Or he had the same voice as a kid? |
I think he means Mick's got a very similar now as to when he was in the Clash.
|
His voice from when he was a kid. He sounds like a 12 British kid with 3 teeth. But he's the only Clashster who has a good voice for pop music.

Have you seen footage of him from when he was a kid or something? |
