Went to a show last night:

Ocean
Rwake
Minsk
Conifer

for $7.
:thumb:

Anyone else heard of any of these bands (I posted some ocean a while back in the thread)

pate 04-15-2007 12:30 PM

Rwake is good.
there wasnt a bad turnout, it wasnt packed but there was a lot of support for them there you know
That's good to hear.

I've been listening to a lot of Trouble recently, and I cant wait to hear the new album and go see them next month.

Iron Bars 04-16-2007 05:30 AM

I've never checked out Trouble. Their one of the early doom bands, right? Any albums I should look into?

Jondur 04-16-2007 05:48 AM

Trouble are probably the second best doom band ever. You need the first one (Psalm 9) and The Skull. They are essential.
DOOM METAL INQUISITION IV - "London is doomed"
PAGAN ALTAR (UK)
WARNING (UK)
AGAINST NATURE (USA)
THE RIVER (UK)
THE LAMP OF THOTH (UK)

Special suprise mystery guests

London, October 2007

Just saw that announced by Miskatonic Foundation. I'll definately be going to that!
I'll be there. I know Warning, Against Nature and The River are touring the rest of the UK as well (mainly because I'm fairly sure at least one of the bands well end up at my house) but the addition of Pagan Altar and The Lamp of Thoth means that a trip to the accursed capital is in order.

I also have VERY high hopes for the special guest.

I'll start looking for those.

NP: Warning - Watching from a distance

pate 04-16-2007 06:56 AM

The new Trouble is really, really good.

Jondur 04-16-2007 08:41 AM

Whoa! Is it actually out? I know it's been delayed for the last year or something.

Apocalyptic Raids 04-16-2007 10:48 AM

maybe it leaked.

I heard Lamp of Thoth's demo and thought it was very good. I've still yet to hear the new Warning though.

Any idea who the special guest might be?
The new Trouble is really, really good.
Is it better than Plastic Green Head?

pate 04-16-2007 03:24 PM

Yes, it leaked. I have no idea when the released date is.

I've not heard Plastic Green Head.

metal-militia 04-16-2007 06:27 PM

I think the US release date is at the end of April, whereas the European date is sometime in May.

Poofy 666 04-16-2007 07:03 PM

Anyone here listen to Desire? Locus Horrendus - The Night Cries of a Sullen Soul is mindblowingly good.

Jondur 04-17-2007 03:32 AM
Is it better than Plastic Green Head?
It'd struggle to be worse - PGH is rubbish. Everything else by Trouble though is godly.

Well Church of Misery were originally announced for the Leeds show. If not them then my money is on Solstice.

That would be good. Any idea what the venue will be in London?

Jondur 04-17-2007 09:23 AM

Last time Miskatonic put on a London gig (Brocas Helm, Reverend Bizarre, Ironsword, Ironheart, The River) it was at the Underworld.

Nepenthe 04-18-2007 08:38 PM

Any Across Tundras fans?

pate 04-19-2007 06:58 AM

Never heard them.

Iron Bars 04-19-2007 10:36 AM

I just found out Trouble wil give a show about 10 kilometers from where I live.

Though I've only heard one song I'm tempted to go.

Definately go. You won't regret it.

pate 04-19-2007 01:56 PM

They played two dates 5 hours away from me a week or two ago. I would have loved to go, but I'm going up there tomorrow for the weekend...to see Solitude Aeturnus, Saturnus, Novembers Doom, and others. :p

Shattered_Future 04-19-2007 06:28 PM

Lee, HOW many times have I told you to STFU about that?
Never heard them.
Hear them.

Poofy 666 04-19-2007 07:32 PM

What are they like?

You live in Dallas?

Nepenthe 04-19-2007 07:34 PM

Old Western Doom Metal.

Represent it till I'm dead.

Poofy 666 04-19-2007 07:34 PM

Cool. I moved to Austin a few months ago.

I'll check them out.

Nepenthe 04-19-2007 07:36 PM

Austin is cool, real neat music scene. I've only been a few times. It's too goody though.
