The manner of ascension is quite easy - You simply have to produce some sort of original information of relevance to the religion, and defend this against the current panel of Masters.

His [i]exact[/i] word, will be interpreted and discussed by the Masters, they will put forward the new teachings (or reject some theory if so be).

That's the most important part of it, in my view. Because the world, or rather the universe is such a dynamic place, everything will change at some point or another.

We have seen it in virtually everything Humans have done for the past 2000 years, we accept something as fact, only to have it counter-proved, and then we have such a hard time denying it, it's not until the next few generations when the new-found theory becomes general fact.

In an attempt to completely take that process out of the religion, I have tried to prepare it for as much change as possible.
When a new idea is presented it may or may not be fact, and at that point, we might not have the required tools to prove (or disprove) it, the requirement that someone would have to defend their idea against (those who would ideally be the most clued on in regards to the religion), is an attempt to bring a general understanding to the masses.

Because there is no single highest position, any new directions the church heads in, is the result of general consensus, understood and agreed by a board of members, which will ideally result in the appropriate adaptation of the new, [i]arguably proven[/i] facts regarding Lithictheism.
