To get your band into a recording studio what is the average price to record a demo CD?

Some places will have things like 25 dollars an hour. Some have packages of 500 dollars a day. But no matter what, always check the studio out beforehand and listen to their previous recordings. Check out their equipment, and make sure it is an overall comfortable environment because you might be there for a while.

a lot of basement studios are like 10-20$ an hour. i imaging you could easily play 50 + an hour if you really want.

this place would've charged my friends band 1200 for 6 songs were it not for the fact that the manager of the studio actually liked them and wanted to produce them. just shop around online, honestly.

definately shop around to find the best quality and price....

you could do it yourself and save a bunch of money, with the bonus of having as much time as you want and doing as many demos as you want.

I suggest spending money on a machine like the Korg D1600 or 32XD and some mic's and do it yourself...if you're just demo recording. it's good cause then you can spend as much time as you want recording different songs and tweaking them to your liking and not have to spend extra money. In the long run, you will save a lot.

Seriously, commercial studios with nice track history will charge over 100 an hour. You can go from home/project/demo studios which will cost you chickenfeed to stuff like the rolling stones studio in a recent thread.
