It's coming out Tuesday, DecemBURR eighth. It's a classic, I just pre-ordered my HARDCOPY on Amazon. My review is already for the release day. What do you guys think of the album?

i listened to murder was the case (which was 2.5-3 material), then i listened to everyone whore his name out constantly on the internet and even some of my friends. so much that now i could basically give a f*ck.

Murder Was the Case, by Gucci's standards, was 1.0-1.5 material. Listen to the Burrprint, The Movie 2, or even Back to the Traphouse (Which has some of the greatest production ever) on it

illmitch
12-06-2009, 10:17 PM
murder was the case is easily one of gucci's worst releases

definitely listen to Burrprint, Guccimerica, Great Brrritain, or either of the Movie releases - or this

I like "Spotlight", "I Think I'm In Love", "Wasted", and "Kush In My Cologne". "Lemonade" and "Gingerbread Man" are unlistenable. Everything else is forgettable. Flow and beats are too basic, he isn't funny enough to make up for that.

illmitch

"classical" has a ridiculously amazing flow tbh, and the entire album has quality beats

Uh, are you BRAINDAMAGED? "I like them Georgia peaches but you look more like a lemon/Them sour apple bitter bitches I'm not f*cking wit em/I'm truly stupid paid/Thas just how I feel today" and "Run up on the kid I'll have ya mourning like Alonzo." and he has the BEST beats out of anybody in the game today, if not all time. Lemonade is an awesome piano sample, Classical is an awesome abstract creation, Heavy has these awesome alien synths. This is ridiculous

GOD. Do people not even listen to a DAMN thing Gucci does with even a half-assed effort to pay attention to ANYTHING he says?!

I put about as much effort as Gucci puts in his flow. He doesn't do anything interesting with his timing at all. He either lazily says his words or lazily slurrs his words. So interesting .... He sounds like he was washed out of the No Limit crew years ago.

Uh, are you BRAINDAMAGED? "Heavy" and "Lemonade" have some of the worst hooks I have heard. I don't see how people can defend a hook that is just "Heavy, real heavy, it's so heavy. Heavy, real heavy, it feels heavy." Bringing his 3 year old daughter to sing the "Lemonade" hook was a bad idea.

I have no idea what "an awesome abstract creation" means. "Classical" is listenable but isn't memorable to me. Reminds me of Chamillionaire's intros, like it should be a prelude to something awesome, then you get your ears assaulted with "Heavy".

illmitch
12-07-2009, 06:16 PM
okay, i think it's pretty clear we're not going to reach any consensus.

also, if you don't like gucci mane, you're certainly entitled to your opinion, however much i might disagree with it. but there's a line between saying that he doesn't appeal to you and that he sucks. that is, unless you just want to provoke people and start a flame war.

Classical is an awesome abstract creation

dude, i dont wanna like, make you sound stupid, but this statement is totally retarded. Theres nothing abstract (or imo awesome) about that track, it sounds typical, Not nessesarily bad, but very typical.

im not impressed with this guy after listening to all the mentioned songs. i've heard worse, but ive heard far better.

ya got me.

i know plenty of people who are poor (me) and speak so that you can understand what the hell is being said. just cause i grew up in a poor white town i dont talk like a redneck cracker moron or slurr all my words together.

i mean, its like a painting. when everything is all muddled and shitty things are unclear and ugly. Renaissace painters are remembered for the incredible amount of detail and clarity in their work. Im not trying to say its not good to (continuing the painting comarison) to have a slurred (impressionistic) type of style, but to me it just sounds like trash.

i like to hear a POWERFUL voice. not some dude slurring his words

Well that's an interesting way to look at it. Don't get me wrong he's not like Soulja Boy or ICP bad and I'm not against his image or his lyrical content at all. I just don't see what is so spectacular about him that he's getting all this attention.

Oh and sorry Bulldog if this has ruined our hip hop relationship...

basically, at least as far as i see it, gucci mane just expresses basic stuff in ways that very few other rappers do. he also replicates cam'ron's vibe of kind of...detached, lazy, arrogance, if that makes sense

if you like Cam'ron, you should check out Lemonade, it's basically about how he's so rich that everything he owns is yellow. and we all know how cam'ron likes to talk about the color of his possessions.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VwoQBf6Hh_g

also try "wonderful", has some quality internal rhymes and just dope lyrics

Bulldog
03-24-2010, 09:32 PM
Dope Boys is also pretty epic with internal rhymes, wordplay, and great similes. Also, terrific beat and Gucci's persona and charisma are astoundingly fun.
