Pretty excellent... my 2nd favorite of the year behind Raekwon. Beats are really tight/ experimental, and Sole's stream of consciousness complements them perfectly. Check out these tracks specifically:

02 - Battlefields
04 - Nothing pt. 2
07 - Bait
09 - Black (this one is like hip-hop meets post-metal)

Truly awesome stuff... review will be up soon.

This is one of the best albums I've heard this year. I love the Comarc Mccarthy reference, hah.

I preordered it so I should be getting soon...with the purple shirt. I listened to the first track on spinner and loved it and it sounds badass.

For shame, purple brings out the machismo in a man. I read it on wikipedia.

I got my copy today and started listening. Sounds very little like their first album. But I've enjoyed it so far.

Since I've been listening more, I do like it a lot more. Mr Insurgent is definitely my favorite track. I wish it was longer, but this + the Battlefields EP will suffice.

As long as you don't mind hearing an MC who isn't the picture perfect, overly expressive kind of cat like a lot of rappers are, yea, you might. Its definitely a lot of great lyrics on the album even though its only 9 songs.

I just love the whole package... beats, lyricism, flow, everything.

#2 record of the year.

Yea, everything is pretty much perfect as far as I'm concerned too. Too many people hate on Sole's flow and delivery, but I enjoy it just fine. This'll probably be my favorite of the year too. Or maybe Crowns Down will be. Or it'll be a tie.

Ok, I have purchased the Plastique CD along with the battlefields vinyl about a week ago, and it seems like it won't be getting here until next week. My question is if you have purchased someone's work, any, does downloading it for free seem like a bad decision, mostly for the real artists out there? I have collected music since 1995 and have a very extensive collection, and I know what is good and what I like, but now the streaming for Plastique is not up and I really want to hear it now, so is there a line to cross if I try to download it from soulseek even though I've already paid for it? I know most likely that it won't be on there, but the only other options are to just wait, or buy another version from itunes. WHat should i do and what do you all think of downloading after purchasing?

I dunno, I see little issue with downloading an artist's music. Especially since you already payed for the album. It's more ripping off the record company than it is ripping off the artist who is making nearly no money off the album anyways. I prefer to give my support in merch and shows and such.

Anyways, I have Sole's s/t and quite enjoyed it so I'm looking forward to this.

Yes I download the hell out of music, for free, but I started seeing some backlash about it, as there always will be. I'm not talking about wealthy artists or companies, I'm talking about the artists who DIY and clearly need support from those that are interested. I support at shows as well, but is taking after giving really as honest as the effort put forth by such artists who rely on support from us? I don't know anymore, am just curious and want to listen to this record, wish they would put it out on vinyl.

I really hate buying cds... they get scratched, lost, whatever... vinyl is much more of a collectible piece. If the Battlefields EP is on vinyl, I'm definitely interested.

Some of the music I own is vinyl-only so I have no guilty conscience about downloading that too, since I am personally unable to transfer it to mp3. Even if it was available as an mp3 I still don't think I would purchase it. If I own the CD I will rip it to my PC; no need to download that! That said, I do buy copious amounts of music.
