My rock opera, Off the Spring, is finally released!

Its been technically released for some time now, but CDbaby.com is finally carrying it on their website, so I can finally sell it on a large scale, to you guys!

So its a rock opera with a narrative and all. Reviews have been generally positive, the instrumentation usually receives rave reviews, the vocals have been more mixed (I went with more of a musical theatre approach to vocals as opposed to regular "rock" vocals...some people like it, some people don't, can't please everybody).

So for those of you interested in this 18 month recording endeavor, here you go. For those interested, I play drums, bass, organ, synths, and have a bit of vocals in a couple of songs.

How have sales been so far and how happy with the project as a whole are you?

I am overall happy with everything, though there have been a few minor things that I picked out after I got the CD's back. Such as the lack of definition between the organ and rhythm guitar at times, and the vocals in the intro are slightly flat....but minor things throughout.

Sales have been slow, of course, but I'm chugging through. I just started promoting the crap out of it yesterday, so far I've only been able to sell it to co-workers, who mostly don't listen to this **** :p

I listened to the sample. I enjoyed it. It was structured very linearly, which I always like. Vocals were more whimsical and humorous sounding than anything, which I wasn't entirely sure was what you were going for or not. It reminds me of early Phish, like the album Junta. It sounds like a very fun piece of music and if I had any money at all I'd buy it.

Yeah, I went with a very musical theatre approach, rather than a rock approach for the vocals, which contrasts with the music, which is very un-Broadway and very, well, prog-ish. I think it makes for an interesting mix.

That's good when I come into some cash I'll def pick it up... If a epic dvd Rock-opera is on it's way I may also pick that up too...
