The song in the video they put up a while back was way better. Pretty stupid, but the new song reminds me of cutsman by Horse the Band.

I didn't necessarily mean the same style, more like on the same level of awesomeness.

i heard the horse the band thing somewhere else too
definitely not seeing it
edit: actually, i can see the cutsman thing, but the other post said their vocals were similar which i definitely don't agree with.
I think there's a slight Mastodon vibe to it

I liked the song. I'm looking forward to the new album and all of the insane guest appearances. I can't wait to see what Steve Von Till contributes, probably one of their more slower songs. Check out his stuff, the guy's voice is amazing.
As to converge's progression, I enjoy the differences. I prefer their older style but they usually keep me happy with the stuff they release.

Animal Collective reminds me of the stupid preppy girls in high school who would jump on any trend and all of a sudden started wearing high waisted skirts and had an interest in the "arts", yet still dated meathead douchebags.

There were probably < 5 girls at my high school into AC. The stereotypes are pretty unfounded in my book, leaving me with no reason not to like the band.

Yeah, they were. There were no scenester bandwagon douchebag people who raved about AC or any other decent bands. They were all too busy sucking off whatever white belt moshxcore lol band was cool.
