I probably could have found it if I looked harder but is there a list of post-hardcore bands or a thread dedicated to post-hardcore floating around?

i think maybe i would consider void just hardcore? i'd still check em out though if i was the op
my favorite is probably drive like jehu. or unwound.
the gospel lp is super killer

^ yea definitely, so scratch that and change Young Ginns to Unwound - The Future of What, and add Fugazi / Jesus Lizard. consistently illest albums for both would be 13 Songs / Goat. but usually when i introduce people to Unwound i give them Repetition first, or Leaves Turn Inside You if i think its what they'd rather hear. but in general post-hardcore has become my favorite shi, and Unwound kills it the most

To be honest, I haven't given them that much of a chance. I downloaded Manic Compression, listened to a few tracks, but couldn't really get into it.

I've heard lots of good stuff about quicksand but never looked into them, that was when I was really into rise against. Not so much anymore. Right now I'm more into Dance Gavin Dance, but that's pretty hard to classify, as well as thrice and brand new. I've heard RoC and The shape of punk to come those are awesome. Glassjaw is great also. And isn't kidcrash emo?

Hopesfall - The Satellite Years
But I'm really starting to dig the **** out of Slip.

I can't stand Fall of Troy.
I dunno it's not too terrible, but the instruments sound weak as crap, and generally the band sound like a poor interpretation of deloused in the comatorium.

They sound like a band that's trying their hardest to appeal to scene kids.
boundbytransience
08-17-2009, 01:54 PM
I hate going to their shows because 102% of the crowd in a bunch of scene douches and hipsters.
But I like most of their music. Doppelganger was a good album.
I live like ten minutes away from them, so my opinion is automatically more valid, thx.

Fall of Troy were terrible live when I saw them, they threw in some short Deftones and Brand New covers. FOT, Blood Brothers and Glassjaw should all be launched into space.

No, they were boring. Didn't see the singer spit, but the singer of Daughters was spitting on the ceiling and catching it in his mouth. Killer moustache too.
