but the art of drowning and black sails and all hallows EP are pretty tight too/
I don;t like that much of their early stuff, i bought answer that and stay fashionable a long time ago, the lyrics and everything just seemed soooo dumb! some of its okay though, shut your mouth and open your eyes had a few tracks i was digging on back in the day.
sing the sorrow was just so artistic and creative though, i love it!

Heartbreak incarnate.
I'm nothing if not your memories.
Your beartbreak, please let me be your joy and your pain.
Someday I will be, I'll be those common words spoken uniquely.
Because I may, will forever be, floating as you feel.
Please let me haunt as scent on your pillow,
Letters of past all tear-stained and wrinkled.
Please let me haunt as scent on your pillow,
Letters of past all tear-stained and wrinkled.
(Just say) Say you will for me (For me)
Invite me to your memory.
(Just sing) Sing again for me (For me)
That long forgotten song.
Heartbreak incarnate.
I'm nothing if not your memories.
Your heartbreak, please let me be your joy and your pain.
Someday I will be, I'll be that waking warmth from a fading dream.
Because I will, I may at best, float as you feel.

This, most definitely.
While some other their other releases maybe had more depth [Black Sails in the Sunset, Art of Drowning], Answer That and Stay Fashionable was just a solid, catchy, awesome album.

The AFI retrospective was the first taste I had into older AFI music. It had samples from all their older releases, as well as vinyl only releases. Without it I probably wouldn't have listened to Black Sails or Art Of Drowning.
Also Rolling Balls is one of their most bad *** songs ever.

i just checked out the review of AFI's first show on the Crash Love tour
it seems like AFI is at their best in terms of stage presence and execution (whether it be vocal or instrumental). Hunter is providing awesome vocal harmonies and around mid-set they have a cool interlude section where Adam steps out from behind the skins to use a hand-shaker for 'On the Arrow'. Definitely not groundbreaking but they've never done that before.
The disappointing part: the setlist. =( WAY TOO MANY SINGLES.
