View Full Version : FoxNews: Do you watch it?

A simple question: do you watch it, even for fun/critique, and which program?

Personally, I do. A friend and myself were talking about how Bill O'Reilly was a guilty pleasure of ours. He's quite entertaining, whether or not you agree with him or his tactics, and I like how he handles his guests. But he's kinda declined since the end of Bush's term.

Since then, I've dubbed FoxNews As The Comedy Channel, and I sometimes get a dose of the different programs. Its not where I get my news

fox news is no worse than any other station

My parents watch it, and I may glance at it for a few minutes but other than that? Not really. I usually like to watch it to see if Glenn Beck cries for the 300th time this week.

I saw it on the TV once when I was in the US. I listened to the inanity of it all and stopped paying attention fairly quickly. Of course, I do that with every other news station I've seen as well.

No. I despise FOX news. I despise MSNBC. I despise CNN.

I try to keep my head in the sand as much as possible.

I do love Bill. He's well informed and very well educated, and what he says is usually law.

I also think Hong Kong Phooey would have made a great world leader, and all TV should be replaced with reruns of Penelope Pitstop, and we can laff at the hijinks as the Ant Hill Mob with their trusty car, Chuggaboom, save Penelope Pitstop from the perils of the Hooded Claw.

There are lessons to be learned there.

Yep. Its almost as funny as Comedy Central. Sort of an unintentional Jon Stewart.

Fox News is the only news channel I take seriously. They seem to be the only ones without any real bias, and I've noticed that almost all of what Glen Beck says is true. You can say what you want about it though, you bunch of Obama supporting sheep.

Shepard Smith is awesome. Besides that, I can't stand Fox & Friends and the people at the news desks are no different than any other network. I used to watch O'Reilly, but now it just really annoys me when he has that segment where he just reads what is on the screen, as if his viewers need to be read to (actually...). I'll still watch if he has a good guest or something, because his interviews can be fairly entertaining.

Fox's news coverage is decent. Their opinion segments range from decent to awful, but that's to be expected really.

You're such a libertarian, agreeing with a social conservative like that.

he's against bans on gay marriage and i think he's pro-choice. unfortunately he's for the drug war though.

why would you watch news

siva_chair
08-05-2009, 02:05 AM
Not at all the same as supporting it.

What? Yes it is. It is supporting their right to choose whether or not to marry a member of the opposite sex, which is the whole issue.

Being apathetic to the concerns of gay people (or anyone else) is not the same as actively supporting them at all.

so because i dont care either way if people buy oranges or not im against people buying oranges

Haliburton
08-05-2009, 02:03 PM
maybe if you define supporting them as going to pride parades or something

what he said was he didnt care about it, he didnt clarify whether he didnt care about the cause (enough to say the government shouldnt ban it) or if he didnt care about it happening (so the government shouldnt ban it)

Haliburton
08-05-2009, 02:08 PM
i dont think it matters if the result is the same

people generally cant help how some things make them feel

they can choose to do the right thing and ignore their feelings though

DBoons Ghost
08-05-2009, 02:12 PM
Not what I said.

Not caring about what gay people do isn't the same as supporting them in it. That is patently obvious.

You could be a virulent homophobe and still not be opposed to gay marriage, because that would be statist.

But you'd still be a homophobe.

Wait..

So, I don't mind if the gays marry. I would never protest for them, nor would I protest against them getting married. In fact, I don't care what they do.

But, if I was against gay marriage, they means I'm scared of the gay?

They should create a new term for hating gays that isn't a phobia, because no one's afraid of a gay, they just dislike their perverse and immoral behavior.

You know the gay cannot bang the other gay in the peehole and produce a child. Unless you've been in manlove, I suppose you cannot understand manlove. With some it's just about sex, and with others it's manlove that stems from girls saying no to them one too many times. Like, a lot of hardcore gays are kinda ugly and weird, and usually all of them have some kind of kid toucher story that made them desire anal stretching.

Anyways, the same goes for the women. Real lesbians look like Rosie O'Donnell.

I hope this post helps.
