Yeah I don't really care but I'll just say despite being pro 2nd amendment, I think anyone who takes gun ownership and use lightly should be locked up for a long time. The dude was carrying a loaded gun around in the waistband of a pair of sweat pants. Two problems here. First, who wears sweat pants to a club (which I think is where he was at)? Secondly, high profile individuals say they need a gun for protection, which I think is crap. Maybe they should think twice about the kind of places they are going if they think they are going to be targeted.

no thats dumb why should people need to avoid areas thats what the gun is for

mistersnitch
08-03-2009, 07:07 PM
Haliburton, i think gun use should be highly regulated by the government

Haliburton
08-03-2009, 07:09 PM
i do not think gun use should be highly regulated by the government

mistersnitch

guitarded_chuck

He shouldn't have had a gun on him, and in my opinion guns should be outlawed altogether, but 3 1/2 years seems harsh. Maybe 4-6 months?

I'm only interested in this case because it's basically the NYC mayor and DA versus all-star NY Giants WR.

It makes me sad to see that a Penguins fan holds such a lame opinion.

I think gun ownership should be granted after you prove you are competent with a firearm.

EDIT: I need to learn how to speel.

Haliburton
08-04-2009, 10:59 AM
well why, any ability is better than no ability when defending yourself

guitarded_chuck
08-04-2009, 12:51 PM
weak argument kid

Haliburton
08-04-2009, 12:53 PM

guitarded_chuck
08-04-2009, 03:11 PM
great counter point there

How can you make a counter argument to no argument at all?

Haliburton
08-04-2009, 03:25 PM
you said my argument was weak

ie you acknowledged there was an argument

make up your mind

Civilians don't need handguns. Rifle ownership on a farm makes sense, but in residential areas I find it silly.

Haliburton
08-05-2009, 06:50 PM
true people dont need to defend themselves from criminals

thats totally unreasonable

Aaron
08-05-2009, 06:53 PM
You don't need a gun to defend yourself, and making firearms more easily accessable for all means they're more easily accessable for criminals.

Haliburton
08-05-2009, 06:55 PM
so explain to me how a physically weaker woman defends herself against a robber who is statistically far more likely to be male and stronger than her

o thats right she cant

Aaron
08-05-2009, 06:56 PM
Kitchen knife, cause she should be in the kitchen.

Haliburton
08-05-2009, 06:58 PM
yeah i know i sleep in my kitchen during the time most home invasions happen

and if knives are legal then the robber can have one too

who do you think is going to win in a melee confrontation like that

protip: its not her

Aaron

Whoever has a net and trident, obviously. It's the superior combination.

Yes I do.

If you are planning on buying a handgun most states require something like this. I don't see it as necessary but w/e.

ok so your opinion is and was dumb the end

A 230 lb man with a knife comes at you

what are you going to do? Cast magic at him?

Mr. Ron
08-05-2009, 07:09 PM
Kick the **** out of him.
Ok what if you lose

you die

Why would you want to make it a level playing field for scumbags who wish you harm?

Raayl
08-05-2009, 07:27 PM
Guns are necessary.

I've been around guns my entire life. Everyone I know has a gun. I enjoy shooting guns, collecting them - etc. I hunt. I also have them for self defense purposes. I have never once experienced a situation where my guns have put me or my family at risk. In fact, just the opposite.

Gun control = I control my gun, you control yours. /end.

Haliburton
08-05-2009, 07:37 PM
i cant even concealed carry a tazer its because i live in a natzee state

Aaron
08-05-2009, 07:40 PM
Well Australia is likely different to America, however as ownership is so much lower here I've not seen much in the way of government regulation on people being trained in their appropriate usage, and my exposure to guns hasn't been positive. Maybe you guys are right, but I've only seen bad things from urban gun posession.

Raayl
08-05-2009, 07:44 PM
Yeah aaron - cause if I'm a criminal and I'm ready to break the laws on theft, i certainly will obey the laws on gun control.

Gun control does 1 thing - it takes the power away from law abiding citizens, and puts it in the hands of the criminal.

Haliburton
08-05-2009, 07:45 PM
if you take away guns people stab each other and so on and so forth down do hitting each other with their stumps after the government takes away their hands

mistersnitch
08-05-2009, 07:46 PM

Haliburton
08-05-2009, 07:59 PM

like umbrellas or whatever

Mr. Ron
08-05-2009, 08:02 PM
lol

Haliburton
08-05-2009, 08:04 PM
i would buy a deactivated glock or something, which is legal, but police tend to confiscate them regardless

Mr. Ron
08-05-2009, 08:12 PM
Man, stupid laws.
