Post the link to the profile/post/thread in question with a short explanation and try not to be too sensitive.

Threads in Site are moderated, which means that when a threads are made here, they are displayed for moderators to choose whether or not to make them available for viewing of other users. Or they are automatically approved after a certain amount of time.

This means that you don't have to make multiple instances of the same thread just because it doesn't show up for you. We can see it and will make it available if necessary.

it has to be smaller then 100 by 100 pixels and 19.5 KB, I know that is for static images but I can't remember if GIF's are supposed to be even smaller then that (75 x 75 pixels is ringing a bell for some reason). You can resize easily enough using a program such as ulead gif animator.

I asked the last day to have my name changed from 'Scandreid' to 'Scatterbrain'. that went well enough - except now I can't log into the main website (forums still works though). when I log in as 'Scatterbrain' I'm just sent back to the login screen, and when I try 'Scandreid' I get this message -

It isn't just you who has moderated posts. If you registered via the review site your posts are moderated until the promotions system puts you in the correct user group. It's nothing personal.

a) stop deleting everything
b) dont have post approval

Post approval is on because of your last spam attack. It's only on for those who registered via the review site anyway. Once they have a post approved cron should stick them in the correct user group.

Is it really killing it though? If a post isn't spam it gets approved quickly enough. If a new user doesn't stick around after their first post doesn't show up immediately they probably wouldn't anyway.

i kinda agree with this. i mean the admins say they want a stronger community, yet some of the moderators are so far out of touch with the community its pathetic. they're like comfy incumbents who don't give a damn but to ban and berate users. some set a vv bad example even while jeremy says "behave" to the rest of us

the trashing of users who have been here over time is also bothersome. we post here...we get older and grow up....and the message board doesn't grow up with us. this is why we have a lack of community...this is why people leave and don't come back, and all some mod can do to bring back the "good 'ol days" is open a lame thread in GD where mods post on hacked accounts of people who don't give a damn about the site and haven't posted in years

It's really up to the pit mods what they leave open but you don't see the overwhelming amount of crap that gets deleted most of the time. I'm sure there may be a potentially legitimate thread or two that is buried in there, but it would seem that it is not so much inappropriate content that is the main bug up everyones *** but pure spam, plain and simple.

Personally I don't see why the community has to be based around posting nonsense and trolling, that is all. I don't like to see moderators engaged in similar behavior, and I can understand how you feel.

I don't understand this Josh, why do you waste your precious time posting here if the activity on this website is such a dead scene to you? Since it seems you post in the guitar forum most of the time i'm guessing there is no wonder you are noticing a deterioration, with the shift over from MX tabs to the main review site stopping an influx of musician types coming here it would appear the only reason the instrument forums are still open seems to be respect for the people who still post there from before.

The rest of the forum seems to be growing steadily with users who have signed up from the main sputnik page. Whether you consider the content of the site legitimate or not, if it leaves such a bad taste in your mouth I fail to see how the sheer mundaneness of this place at its worst could possibly be entertainment enough to sit around and watch it's "death rattle".
