...except Ginsburg thinks it's legal to discriminate against whites.
"Reporting from Washington -- The Supreme Court's reversal Monday of a discrimination ruling involving a group of white Connecticut firefighters has provided critics of high court nominee Sonia Sotomayor with some fresh ammunition.
Republican senators and conservative groups contend that the justices' 5-4 ruling represents a rebuke of Sotomayor's handling of the case, Ricci vs. DeStefano. She was a member of a three-judge panel on the federal appeals court in New York that heard the action and sided against the white firefighters."

I wouldn't say they "Smackdowned" on her ruling.
Pretty much all the commentary I have read said that Sotomayor simply followed the precedent accepted up until now, a precedent that the SC has now changed. That is to say, she probably would have ruled for the Firefighters if it was a duplicate case following this ruling as opposed to the case that brought it about.

It's possible given her broader record on race cases, but her demeanor toward the case was far from professional. I also am not sure she'll keep her racialism private when she reaches the SC.

If she had ruled in favor of Ricci she would have been engaging in extreme judicial activism by overturning well entrenched precedent. So either she is an activist judge (which you hate) and rules how you want her to, or she is a judge who is respectful of precent (as was the entire court who ruled unanimously with her), which you like, and she rules against for the city.
Either way you are a hypocrite.

I can't, I'm constantly held down by the lower class minority power structure.
