Okay, just to get this out there,
I don't know if this is the right place to post.
I just thought ska fell under punk?
Anyway, anybody have any recommended ska bands for me?
I already really like:
-Streetlight Manifesto
-Catch 22
-Big D and the Kids Table
-Operation Ivy
-Goldfinger
-Gimp
-Less Than Jake
-Reel Big Fish
-Mighty Mighty Bosstones
-The Specials
As you can see, I don't know that many ska bands.
Can you guys recommend any other ska bands I might like based upon the bands I listed?
Thanks alot in advance!

You shouldn't be listening to third wave ska. Only first and second waves.

This is ska thread.
Not religious debate thread.
Third wave ska isn't bad.
I find most third wave ska bands annoyingly immature.

1st wave = 60s
the skatalites, the maytals, desmond dekker, the paragons
2nd wave (two-tone) = early 80s
the specials, bad manners, bodysnatchers, madness
3rd wave i dont' care about and dont know anything about

yeah, thats what i was thinking. so really third wave is a mess by comparison for the purist. got to see desmond dekker a couple of years ago. it was excellent.
You can't forget Prince Buster, man.

For the love of God please listen to the Slackers, they're amazing, and I don't even normally like ska beyond them and The Specials.
