Is there any real defense to using or selling hard drugs like these?
I'm watching some copper show on the telly and this guy is a complete mess. The only experience I have with somebody recounting positive experiences with the drug is a woman I know who is several years older then me, and advises that if I were to ever take meth I should do it with her because it is "tricky".
Any personal experiences? I can't see this being in the same recreational category as weed, by any accounts.

yeah you moral nazi the defense is its none of your business how other people choose to waste their lives
but you see, I am undecided on the matter as of yet
as far as I can tell, a common side effect is ending up with all sorts of emotional outbursts and uncontrollable fits of rage. it can't be safe for both the user or those who happen to be around them if it comes to this
unless of course, this is a sensationalised view of the drug which isn't as common as people would have you believe. or is it?

Breaking Bad is a good TV show, though it doesn't make me want to start smoking meth. Worst I've done is acid and it's non-addictive.
All in all, I wouldn't recommend it.

yeah it was kind of an analogy.. in the sense that you are saying that knife policy is analogous to drug policy

haha precisely.
You can criminalize selling or producing drugs like this but it's retarded to criminalize their use
And obviously many other drugs shouldn't be criminalized at all

People used to eat meth all the time, when it was mass produced to harvest its power. All different forms of amphetamines were widely prescribed for daily ailments or chronic problems, and it worked like magic. After it was criminalized its production steadily went from pharmaceutical labratories to at home/privately. Anybody with enough skill to cook clean meth is most likely not doing it right now unless they were raised in that enviroment. There are certain places like that. Live on the edge, stay awake for weeks. Get really high, and then get higher. Everybody's doing it, get laid. Have sex for five hours, and then five more. Party, party more, steal some lightbulbs, and drive fast.
Then again, there's always heroin.

Stimulants (coke, ice, etc.) generally turn people into monsters

Media and television and anyone with an agenda hardly portray the recreational users of hard drugs. I'm not justifying their use. I'm just saying, not everyone who uses these drugs lets them ruin their life.

Ice is terrible. I'll never do it again.
I've had good and bad experiences on coke, but afterwards you get so low.
As someone who's experienced a fair few drugs, I'd say that it's best if the usage of it is punished [with fines and compulsory counselling] and selling and distributing of it should be punished far worse. If someone is found with a half a kilo of coke, they shouldn't see society again.

That's an arbitrary distinction to make. You just said coke isn't necessarily that bad.

Well yeah, but it's just an example. And I said I've had good and bad experiences.
