I'm looking to get into them and just wanna know, what's your favorite album and/or what's the most accessible? Where should I start?

In Absentia should probably be your starting place, generally their most liked and probably the most representative of their modern sound.

The older stuff is different, so even if you don't like that, check out Signify.

I think Porcupine Tree are a bit overrated, but Deadwing is probably the best place to start.
In Absentia is pretty good, but not quite as accesible as Deadwing.
Fear Of A Blank Planet is my fave album, but may take a few listens to get into.

I've only heard their more recent stuff, like FOABP, In Absentia and Deadwing. Apparantly thats their more prog/metal material and its all pretty ****ing good. If you like longer epic songs, get FOABP, if you like shorter, more alt. rock/metal, get In Absentia or Deadwing.

everything up to lightbulb sun is pretty good, after that it starts to be albums made up of 3 or 4 really good songs amidst several tracks of horseshit

Are you high? Everything AFTER lightbulb sun is better than before.

maybe I should be more realistic and have said Lightbulb Sun, Signify, Stupid Dream, The Sky Moves Sideways, and Up The Downstair are good, because not all of the ones before lightbulb sun are good (OTSL sucks hardcore). But yeah, other than that, I stand by my statement. In Absentia is pretty good I guess, Deadwing is unbelievably boring, and FOABP is like at least 10x more boring than Deadwing.
