...that was peter gabriel dude, you cant even get your own thread right
but massive attack are wicked, im really keen for the new album. it seems like a return to the mezzanine sound rather than the electronica of 100th window that i never really got into. i love their quiet, dark trip hop. and the new stuff theyve played at glastonbury last year sounded awesome
i kinda wish tricky had stayed with them though, his verses on blue lines were so good

Theyve apparently had some interesting vocalists working with them on the new one, although some of them are apparently a bit lame.
I think Tricky was held back by the group. he wanted to do different things and they werent willing to go in that direction. His solo stuff is very inconsistant, but when you sort the wheat from the chaff there are some brillaint tracks.

yeah thats true, and knowle west boy and maxinequaye are the only albums ive really given time too and they are quite good
i just think his voice really suited the music they made and i wish they stayed more blue lines/mezzanine
but yeah theyve got a decent range of vocalists, but i hope 3D still does a lot of the vocals. and i hope the rumours about sia being on the record are true :D

Yeah, the ones im excited about, Mos Def, Tom Waits, and Mike Patton were all done ages ago ive heard, so they probs wont be on the album which sucks. I agree with you tho, i do prefer just the massive boys, Horace and whichever woman does the songs on the album rather than too many guests

I'm thinking of getting Mezzanine in the next couple of days...not a band/style of music I've listened to much but got Endtroducing recently and loved it and from what I've heard Mezzanine seems to be the next thing to check out?
Any other reccommendations?

get mezzanine and blue lines, theyre the more hip hop/trip hop albums
protected and 100th window are more electronica based

I sort of lost interest in this group, despite being quite keen on them for ages

yeah i listened to mezzanine a lot for a while there, then slowly started to not listen as much. i still really like their music, and if they come to australia on this new album tour which i really hope they do im definitely gunna go

Just bought Mezzanine, I'll edit this post after I've given it a listen or two.
