So if you guys remember I was complaining about the recording quality of the new Panopticon album, Collapse, which was probably stupid because I got it for free off of blogsearch. Anyways apparently (at least I read a statement that Panopticon made) the version that leaked on the internet is not the final mastering and the final mastering will apparently sound very good. I don't know whether this would be good or bad because I know some people like the "raw" sound of black metal.
But anyways feel free to talk about anything Panopticon-related. :thumb:
Edit: Oh and here's a link to the official statement from the "band" if anyone wants to read it.

he says in a post on his myspace that the leaked version was just the rip from when he streamed it for a day, and yeah, it wasn't the final version
final version or not, the leak was awesome.

yeah, look at bitrates before assessing an album on recording quality and if it's a leak even if it's 320 kbps or FLAC treat it with suspicion as it could be a transcode
this group wouldn't happen to sound similar to Isis, would they?

It's wierd though Meatplow... I think you would enjoy them. And yeah Panopticon = my favorite black metal band right now. I'm actually liking Collapse better than the self titled.

they're both good in their own rights
musically i enjoy the self titled more, but it's obvious A had his concept completely in mind with collapse, everything on the album is geared towards furthering its concept. if you don't know about the concept the album might not be as good, because the self titled has a lot of variety.
also silverfang check the off. recs thread, i left soem for you

I just love the way Collapse flows as a whole... I had trouble at first getting through the S/T... but Collapse I enjoyed it right away. And I'll check those rec's thanks dude.
Edit: Rasputin I requested breakdown heavy music, that was another guy that recommended funeral doom! lol But I'll check those out regardless. And yeah all heil Panopticon.
if silverfang likes panopticon i'll stop listening to him

Well you have a much broader spectrum of tastes than me when it comes to music. I need guitar and drums for me to be able to listen to the music... although I like paino and sometimes cello. Anyways yeah... whenever they release the non-**** version I'm hopping on that.
Haha, I was kidding man. Actually your taste has impoved a lot, that's quite good.
And this version ain't that bad tbh.
