Anybody else using it?
I've fit quite comfortably into it, apart from the whole options being moved around so I have to find stuff again thing. It's fast, i've had no trouble with drivers and it hasn't crashed on me yet.

I really couldn't say, as i've skipped straight from XP to 7. The only experience i've had with Vista was trying to help my dad learn basic skills over the phone which resulted in hours of frustration (probably less to do with the OS itself then the apathetic old man attempting to control it, but that is a different story).
From what i've been reading many claim Vista was rushed, I really don't know how well the end product fared for most though. Windows 7 RC1 is getting quite a bit of acclaim at the moment wherever I hear of people using it on the web.

I had a spare hard drive to play around with so it was worth a shot. It's running great so far, a lot of little things are making it really efficient. Both 32 and 64bit btw.

damn. i have a Dell mobo so i know that won't work with it. otherwise i'd go for it as i'm going to format soon
i do have the pieces for a new computer. all i have to do is take apart mine and slap it together. its tempting. i was going to put one together for my sister and she went in the first $100 dollars but then decided on a laptop and told me to keep the parts. i have an inexpensive mobo, Antec 300 case, and an AMD 5200+ Brisbane. i don't care for the proc. but...if it can play games ok i'd be fine. this way if anything goes badly i will still have my 5600+ in place in my Dell and i can just move everything back over
then i can make the new one a Windows 7 box. gonna need to buy some RAM, though. not at first as i can put 2 gigs in to get it started. but after its all said and done, yeah
I like it a lot. I've got it on a spare hard drive in my machine at home and will probably start using it at work soon.

haven't used it yet because my laptop screen his half broken so it makes it hard/annoying to install a new OS. But I am psyched for it and hope to have a new laptop by then.

I'm sure you could dual boot it with XP.

you can dual boot, or use Windows 7's new xp mode if you really needed to use XP.
