....The Sopranos.

I missed the boat on this show, seeing as I never had HBO until about a year ago, (occasionally you'd see HBO stuff on Showcase but they cut out all the swearing, violence, drugs, tittiez, etc) but I always heard great things. I got HBO Canada a while ago, (obvs after all my favorite HBO shows get cancelled) and I watched the odd episode, until I decided it would be best to start from the beginning.
I bought Season One on DVD the other day, and I'm hooked. There's a reason why it was so acclaimed. The writing is so damn sharp, especially with the metaphorical stuff (i.e. the ducks in Tony's backyard), and I like that all the characters, from the main people (Tony, Carmela Soprano, Jennifer Melfi, Christopher Moltisanti (who is probably my favorite character)) to the minor characters like Tony's mom Olivia, Uncle Junior, etc., all have full characters, and they aren't just cardboard backgrounds to the main players. Everyone has personality traits, friends, families, etc., because they're real people, not just stereotypes.
Thoughts?
