Ok, I might be going out on a limb here a bit, but does anyone remember this movie?

It came out in 1999, and I remember my parents taking me to go see this in the theater, and apparently they bought it for me because I found the VHS in my rec room a while ago and I re-watched it, and it's actually really funny, and I barely hear people talk about it nowadays.
It's based on a comic book, and what it is, is it takes place in a fictional city called Champion City (which is actually Vancouver) where there's a superhero named Captain Amazing, (Greg Kinnear) who gets kidnapped by a villain named Casanova Frankenstein, (Geoffrey Rush) and the only people who can save him are these comically inept superheroes played by Ben Stiller, William H. Macy, Hank Azaria, Janeane Garofolo, Paul Reubens, and a bunch of other people.
I decided it deserved a thread. Anyone seen it?

ive seen that movie many times. i love it
Only in the last week or so have I been hearing this mentioned again, strangely enough. Two of my friends on two separate occassions recently mentioned it to say that Tom Waits is in it. I guess I must've known that, but I forgot, as it's been about 10 years since I've seen or thought about this movie.
Now I kind of want to see it again.

The movie's very creative and I love the Invisible Boy's moment of truth. Great characters, a little lackluster on the whole, but good none-the-less.

Very entertaining movie. I wouldn't watch it on a regular basis, but if it's on TV or on some random cable movie network, I'll dig it.

Tom Waits plays a scientist who lives in an abandoned amusement park who specializes in non-lethal weapons.

Yeah, Hank Azaria plays a character named the Blue Rajah (sp) who throws forks at people, and William H. Macy plays "the shoveler" who just hits people with a shovel.

I had never seen that before either, it was tight. I don't want to turn this into a thread about TW, but have you seen this video? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_hqK2Lt0uvY Some guy playing guitar and banjo over it but I can't find the original.

Also, for people who have seen it, the scene where they're holding superhero tryouts, the Waffler is played by a young Dane Cook.

Pretty funny. I guess it's one of those movies where somebody would mention and everyone would groan, acting as if they're too god for it, but inside they all know they laughed at it, and rightfully so.
